  1. It’s not as hard as learning to read English, and you have the advantage of not having to learn to write it as well as read. I’m learning slowly, I’m good at spotting rhythms now, but pitches are coming slower
  2. I think from reading that, that you’ll fit in just fine checklist: 1. Large herd of instruments already ? CHECK 2. self deprecating SOH? CHECK 3. “project” on the go? CHECK GOOD TO GO 👍
  3. If you can’t hear it, you can’t have plagiarised it. Good to go 👍 says geek99 LLB (Hons) Law ** as Brer Rabbit would say “it’s not just real, it’s actual”
  4. @joel406 there might come a point, in some parallel universe where I say airily “On a 5 I have a more fluid movement. ” however on this universe I’m limited to “hmm maybe I’ll be able to handle it maybe not” but I still say it looks amazing needs tort though 🍿
  5. If I had the talent to play one effectively/ time to learn/ ability to put up with “that’s a big guitar” nonsense I’d be all over it like Tony Blair over an Eastern European oligarch big thumbs up from me - absolutely would
  6. See @Bluewine you’ve been slumming it with us for so long that you get British humour
  7. Adam Clayton #controversial garry beers of inxs justin currie of del amitri duck dunn mr Jamerson
  8. Jeez, what a hovel! They kept cows in there before you arrived, right ? #joking 👍 im playing “stand by me” next OM night alongside a professional singer - no pressure
  9. I thought it was great also.
  10. Is teaboy in scope on this forum?
  11. Tc electronic bq212 would do it easily
  12. I do, I also flip comfortably between imperial and metric as the occasion demands I don’t understand “old money” c 1969 - that’s just plain weird
  13. Personally I did not doubt your motivation, your language was clear
  14. I always very much liked “don’t lose your head” for the bass part
  15. Yes, some of them can even read and/or do simple sums (fingers allowed)
  16. I am reminded of Blackadder 2 where Edmund attempts to teach baldrick maths
  17. I’ve been to music stores in the US and it is not crazy expensive compared to here. Your dollar price is what we pay in pounds and then some more, a dollar gets you 80% of a pound right now
  18. So that’s pretty much everyone on the planet made eligible
  19. Not strictly a gig as such but I’m pleased with myself (at my low level of skill, small beer to some of you) as at an open mic night this week someone fired a song suggestion at me and I had to learn it there and then. I played it through with her when someone else was performing and she said I’ve got it down well enough for us to do it next time. My little one had called and asked if I could come back so took an early bath. I struggle to learn songs quickly due to getting zero practice time so quite pleased at the affirmation and not messing up with someone watching me closely
  20. I love that your boots get the focus from you. However the meaty stuff is “what bass did you play?”,
  21. Use less boiled-down rat, Stig varnish works better
  22. No it’s a proto rickenbacker, the plough share is a dead giveaway as the inspiration for the bridge and pickup cover
  23. You can just find them lying around, this is likely an 1864 vintage rickenbacker so proper vintage, look at the relic mojo
  24. I still play my vintage (brand) stingray copy - it does it all
