  1. I think vintage is about years but there’s also an unspoken expectation of “quality item” back then also. Kay’s are as old as a same year fender but I’m not sure that people would look at them the same way
  2. No it’s a “po rn” based double entendre referring to “an excited state” @Pea Turgh and also that your bass is made of lovely looking wood
  3. What does the ten position varitone thing do? The stellar tone site is a bit vague
  4. He does refer to you as The Maestro I would imagine
  5. I would not worry too much about the latter. Just think of the former criteria as channelling your inner Alan partridge and embrace middle age by using a notebook to capture your thoughts about “ great full English experiences” that you have had
  6. Still a dab hand at the one-room dump and rat skin loincloth though. Mr Stig?
  7. She sounds fcuking fabulous :thumbsup
  8. Yes he could retro fit the light up keys and midi
  9. I think we found our organiser @petecarlton @Frank Blank 👍
  10. I used to be (though not the lady part) if you’re on Facebook I recommend you join this group https://www.facebook.com/share/r3fWbWP4RPyuTCQU/?mibextid=K35XfP the one I go to is in Ashby on m42. It is raucous and organic. Literally anything can happen next is feb8th
  11. Basically someone brings food, everyone a selection of their bass gear, amps, and you chat and try each others things. Raffle, sometimes also sometimes builders and Luthiers attend also and sometimes there are demonstrations generally 20-30 people in a village hall
  12. Hello, so am I. I can possibly help you out with the jams. where are you approximately? The midlands bass bash has been in Nottingham last year but was previously in Doveridges and Leicester
  13. https://reverb.com/uk/item/28913650-secondhand-spider-electro-acoustic-bass-natural
  14. I liked a short scale “spider” bass, very loud for its size
  15. If it’s a device packed up in a box, rather than a bass that just needs to be taped back into its box, I can totally see why they don’t check thimgs like midi controllers and just rely on the tiny failure rate
  16. Yes would be acceptable if it was an acoustic bass, naturally
  17. Quite interested - how much is shipping in parts likely to be ?

    What happened?

Mine was a German musima p bass copy in white/white/maple it got a jazz bass pickup added, quite badly. I regret all of this as I didn’t know quality when I saw it
  19. I’m just saying that I can see how someone could get into a pickle, I’m not saying it has been handled well or fairly or quickly by him. I honestly regret posting anything now
  20. That looks f ckuing amazing … big thumbs up @neepheid
  21. Google translate said “huh?” So thanks for the clarification
  22. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel seems to have been switched off. As someone who has been really, really poor I sympathise with possible tunnel vision about debt but I do also think he could have done things, and treated people, much better
