1. I think bravewood are more than that
2. Nice work - i dont want sunken grain though It comes off easily with the blunt side of a kitchen knife - im sure its acrylic or poly although its quite thin. I want something thin, old looking and sunburst so it breaks out to relic in record time. I accept poly isnt going to do that. I hear you can get crazing by putting the nitro painted body in the freezer so ill try that too
3. I'm not sure what wood -I'll post a picture
4. Any advice ? Do I need to use grain filler ? Body is sunburst now, bare wood in places but acrylic paint - flakes off easily though
5. I recommend a rub down with the green tougher side of a normal pan sponge
6. agree with machines above - they just work and its a sound people just recognise. I played mine flat and wide open througha Zoom B2 on ampeg (slightly) and a PA and it rocked. Its sounded fatter than augustus gloop at a chocolate eating contest.
7. i only have one Precision, with Warwick Red rounds on it - if I was into flats as well, I could conceive of needing two maximum. I know one BC member has 15 precision basses. My partner heard him say this and said "dont get any ideas about that...." - she tolerates four basses as long as they bring different things to the party. However, if you earned the money, and its a good price where you're not being scalped, have whatever you like.
8. Foo fighters apparently I wouldn't be swayed by a name but I could be influenced over by it to try a style of instrument I wouldn't have considered before - a Hofner for example
9. good work there maybe you should start taking commissions?
10. Headphone amp works for me - get one with a built in MP3 player is my advice - Amazon do a cheap one with an ad card in it - put this ASIN in to search bar B00P7QETOA Totally feel your pain about the child care time vacuum
11. If it's not talking to you, move it on
12. i bought a Hohner B2a from Vmaxblues which arrived quickly and predictably via UPS, even at Xmas. Vmax kindly expedited the shipping so it arrived on a particular day due to my rapidly changing location just before Xmas.
13. I wish I lived near you, I'd be there
14.
Here's the single cut I'm building for Kert (our very own FuNkShUi ) I always thought of single cuts as interesting but a bit f'ugly, but I'm getting really excited by how I think this one is going to turn out For anyone interested, the ongoing build thread is here.
Not my cup of tea to play but love the workmanship
15. Just reuse the standard screws ?

18. I tried boiling once but it wasn't effective for long- I just use cheapie strings instead
19. Sounds like a bargain to me, my local one is selling a line6 guitar head for £69
20. I have trouble with this as I play infrequently and have little practice time Listen to it until you're sick of it then split it into sections so it doesn't seem such a huge task is my advice
21.
The MIM 70s one mentioned at £540 is a great price, plus they`re a nice bass. Real substantial feel to them.
Yes I'd buy that one
22. Yes a sad loss musically , I used to think she was hot too
23. Put them in the metal bin at your local tip ? It's what i do
