a bass doc built precision of mostly japanese components,loosely based on a 73 maple 3tsb. Notably for a yet-another-Precision, it has a Fender "no-load" tone, so fulltone means the tone pot is electrically bypassed. It has a cheap "Blues tribute" pup from US ebay on it and it always gets complimented on looks and sound.Its a better instrument than I am at playing it.

ok - they say they are alder but could be wrong. I assume you could just put sanding sealer on it and you're good to go ? I'm thinking of transparent blonde in nitro with some celluloid tort

I think it’s down to the twin streams of bass playing. The vic Wooten / Jaco school Of flashiness leaves me cold, I’m afraid. The former quorum serve the song whatever their own private level of virtuosity, it’s just not needed. If you listen to “Love comes tumbling” there is a degree of talent there not normally seen in u2 so I wouldn’t say that AC, Mike Anthony etc can’t step up just because they normally don’t record it.

Just listen to a bit of it perhaps ?

No, never Bass, with long graceful neck, floor shaking voice and head turning capability plus habit of getting people to dance is just too awesome. The only thing that I’d have as a second horse to ride, is piano - I quite fancy being able to play piano simply as they much more easy to find around and about
