1. IMHO it's far from overpriced. Just bought one myself from a fellow BCer for the same and very happy with it. You an get nice lowish action and it has a good tone that projects well enough for a purely acoustic jam with two guitarists. I recommend especially at this price, but you're right that not many bass players go for them.
2. I asked Guild about the two pup version and it's due out July/August.
3. There's a 90's Guild Starfire at The Bass Gallery at the moment. I went up there to try it out and it's in great condition, up for c. £1,500. Wonderful tone palm-muted tone and probably would be great with a pick as well. Worth a try if you're in this kind of ballpark.
4. Paul bought my Sadowsky Will Lee. A top chap to do business with - great communication, ultra-quick bank transfer. Really good bloke as well, which is always a bonus! I can only add my recommendations to those above.
5. I'll probably give this another one to two weeks and then take it back to the Gallery for a commission sale, so will consider close offers.
6. Just bought a Tanglewood acoustic bass from Mark. Absolutely superb packing - would have withstood a bomb - and bass in great condition. Mark was an absolute gent throughout, very reasonable about postage costs and very quick to get it across to me. I add my wholehearted recommendations to those above.
7. Just got myself some digi scales and the bass weighs in at 8lb 13oz.
8. Here's a link to a Youtube video (not mine) of the bass being used for a house groove. Only one of the possible tones but the sort I've gravitated towards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iROpf-mOPhU
9. Hi, afraid I don't have good enough scales to give an accurate weight. From old listings on TalkBass they seem to vary between 8lb 2oz and 8lb 10oz, which is probably about right. If I can get hold of a decent set this week I'll post the actual weight. Thanks for your interest, Ed
10. This is the Will Lee signature model RV4 (Metro series). Notable tweaks to the classic RV4 design include a mid-boost switch (two selectable frequencies), which lets you put some extra thump into the classic Jazz scooped sound, Hipshot Xtender on the E string, 22 frets, and very slightly slimmer width at the nut. There are no dinks or scratches anywhere that I can see - it really is mint condition. All specs together with links to reviews are at: https://www.sadowsky..._lee_model.html I can't fault this bass - it has the classic punchy fundamental of a Sadowsky with mid-boost, and a super-playable neck. You're welcome to come and try it in Central London, or I could post at your cost (comes in a 'semi-hard' case which seems to be pretty bomb-proof). Price is what I paid for it at the Gallery, which I thought was pretty reasonable given they're £2,200 on Thomann, but will consider near offers. No trades except possibly Guild Starfire. Thanks for looking, and please do check my feedback thread in my signature. 11. Sorry about the delayed response - still available and the Blue Label ones.
12. Both Octabvre and You're Doom are now sold.
13. Octabvre and You're Doom on hold. GR2 not for sale at the moment, thanks.
14. Super octave pedal from 3leaf. You can read about it on their website - stand-out features are the two octave tones (OC2 and Mutron) with blend between them, and footswitch to solo the octaver for pure synth. It's in excellent condition with velcro underneath and comes boxed. I may also be selling the You're Doom, and as with all Spencer's pedals they work brilliantly together so let me know if you want them both. Shipping included within UK or you can collect/meet in Central London.
15. Duffer that I am, I cut the G string on my new set of Sadowsky nickels too short, so this set will most likely only suit a bass with G-string winding post nearer the nut like a Stingray. Actual length of the G is a tad over 45 inches. The other strings are all fine for regular Fender headstock. Have been fitted but not played. I'm gutted as these are supposed to be brilliant and very hard to find this side of the pond - have been saving them since I got them with a Sadowsky Will Lee and now I go and do this... Anyway my loss is somebody else's gain. £15 inc. p&p
16. Thanks for the alert - I've just booked tickets. My wife asked me the other day who I'd most like to see live of anyone and Me'shell was the answer.
17. I have heard great things about Diago but had bad hum trying to power my 3leaf Enabler. Ended up with a Harley Benton Powerplant Junior which was £30 and has 5 isolated 9v outs with a doubling cable to deliver 250mA for one pedal. Great value.
18. On hold pending the usual
19. SoldGoldFX Beta overdrive - goes from Motown thump to thick creamy overdrive. All knobs have a useful range and no loss of bass as you go up towards fuzz territory. Best check out some of the Youtube demos - there are a few decent ones, this being my favourite: https://www.youtube....h?v=Ht3VcODYn04 There's also an extensive thread on Talkbass where it is compared to various other overdrives: http://www.talkbass....ng-one.1055098/ £80 shipped in the UK which is what I paid for it from another BCer, and this is firm as they're over £150 from Thomann before shipping. The only trade I would consider is part-ex for an Octabvre
20. A faultless transaction with Zac: great Solid Gold Beta pedal well packed. Good comms throughout with tracking number to follow shipping. Highly recommended BCer!
