  1. Got to tip your hat to Tim Lefebvre. Always seems to have that something
  2. I'm not a 6string player but I think it looks good for a bongo which always look better in dark colours to me. The EQ looks very interesting with controls it makes sense in a set and forget way find the sound that suits the song/venue and playing style! Guess it's another take on a tonestyler idea and if your not happy I bet they have trim pots in the cavity etc. Fingerboard doesnt bother me at all either as I dont find it stands out
  3. Had an 80s P like this really regret getting rid of it (it's even in my tumbnail) tempting...
  4. Looking great
  5. I'm amazed this is still here to be honest
  6. Bit of a delay on the build but it is still in the works and will update as soon as I can. Have been chatting about pickups and who to use to make them and have a couple of options to think about.
  7. Lovely looking bass Mike's works top notch currently having my 5strkng worked on by him so this will be a great bass if I had the funds would add it to the pack
  8. This is one of those can of worms topics I think you could have two of the same bass made on the same day in the same factory with the same basic parts and they sound and feel totally different. You can use pickup type/placement as a general guide know the rough characteristics you prefer then try as many instruments that you think will fit the sound you are looking for till you find the one that stands out. Hindsight is real git at times I wished I kept basses I have moved on that I felt didn't fit the bill at the time but really they were more tan the sum of their parts and sounded great each style has its place be it single/split/bucke/ active or passive just find a bass you gel with and play it as much as you can.
  9. Thinking similar would make a killer little stereo rig with my LB
  10. I'm liking the Ash you could do a take on the classic butterscotch tele style.

  17. Option 3 Australian Jarra

  19. Option 1 Maple
  20. The Guild has moved on to a new home and Mike has now sent me some tops to choose between. So could be time for a poll! I have my favourites but it's a really difficult to choose
  21. Geeezzz just when I have put my money into a refurb of a 5string
  22. I have never really seen that before but kind of yeah
  23. Bit more progress from Mike he has been filling the holes in the body with swamp ash ready for the top to go on although I still need to pick a top. May even ask for opinions once he has selected some for me to pick from.
