1. I know this item was sold. Take a look at the transformation:
2.
Yup, binding-post speaker connection supports early 90s provenance. (Later models have a Speakon instead.) So a bit more desirable
Exactly! As I said in the advert, I think its factory build rather than a custom job. I had a bass amp technician look at it the other day and that was the verdict .
3. Thought it was a pretty amazing documentary. Hackett is bitter isn't he? I relish his solo work. But to bitch and moan about not getting enough air time is stereotypical of an egocentric guitarist.
4.
I would suggest either getting a safety pin and putting it into the round part of the string, or just keep toggling the wire up and down etc. this happened to me some time ago
I eventually got it out. But I had to almost hit it in. The tuner on the G string was really slow moving up and. Really stiff. So I might have to get something to lubricate it. But its alright now! Thanks for the help
5. So I tried screwing it back in. But I think there is a string stuck in the box... That is how far it goes in.
6. I have only used my hand with the string anchor. But it doesn't seem to move. That is as far as it will go into the box.
7. Hi there, I need help regarding a strings and changing them.. So my G string broke. As you can see. Only today have I tried taking it off and the mechanics has then stopped me from changing when the tuning knobs are at the back. As shown in the picture, the bolt is sticking out where I don't want it to be. I'm tempted to open up the black box to see what it is doing. But then worrying about breaking some of the mechanics in there. The bolt coming out of the black bit cannot be moved but the tuner can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, James.
8.
Trades ?
What did you have in mind? PM me .
9. Nice idea. However remember what happened to The Bass Centre. That was extremely patriotic in the sense of the brands that are used (Status, Trace Elliot, Wal). I guess though that the Bass Centre wasn't exclusively British brands.
10. Ignore the Price; £430 at the moment. http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/svt-3pro.pdf Hello everyone, I am selling my Ampeg SVT 3 Pro. As I have upgraded to a Mesa Boogie 400. However I do not doubt this amp whatsoever. The tone selection, graphic EQ allow you to get whatever sound you want. I have owned this for a good two years. The graphic EQ is obviously the main attraction (9 band EQ I believe). However there are frequency selectors to the mid range, ultra hi and bright pads just to increase the scoop and the higher end aggressive tone which Ampeg are renowned for. It is an older model. I believe its an early 90s model. It has a few signs of wear and tear. Once I upload the pictures, some of the graphic EQ levers are broken. However you can still change them up and down. I may also like to add that the this amp has just last weekend just been re-valved. Circa £40. So that is why I have bumped up the value to £500. The head also comes with a flight case. Weighing just under 20kgs. The power to the amp is connected not via a kettle lead. The evaluation by the guy who re-valved the amp said that it was straight out of the factory. And I guess that is quite rare. Trades I would be looking for something a little lighter than a Mesa Boogie 400. I will listen to offers, interested in Genz Benz Shuffle 12.0! The Ampeg Svt 3 is based in Reading, Berkshire at the moment. But I could get it up to Sheffield for convenience of trading. Please note that shipping is paid for by the BUYER. Regards, James.
11. My first professional bass; Warwick Thumb BO '97. Hopefully won't have to sell it in the future!
12. Am I right in thinking that Yolanda Charles plays these? The make Blade, rather than the model.
13. If you want that Mesa Boogie sound. Can't go wrong with a 400/400+. Or even a Carbine model.
14. A Scot correcting ones English? My God, the water's rising.
15. I'm rather new to Jazz in comparison to some of you. However I'm enjoying the Yellowjackets at the moment. Great little band. Jimmy Haslip is a great player as well!
16.
I wouldn't say I'm moody... Mrs C says things like 'morally disengaged' and 'unempathhic' when she's telling me what's wrong with my personality...
Come on Rob, you negative nancy!
17. http://www.viagogo.co.uk/Concert-Tickets/Alternative-and-Indie/Manic-Street-Preachers-Tickets What a joke.
18. Great bass. I want one back eventually.
19.
I think that BC is fast becoming the place to buy but not necessarily the place to sell....
Definitely. I buy and sell quite a few items. I've had far more success off eBay and Gumtree than I have on BC for selling. Maybe the players on BC know what something is worth and won't budge on their estimations. (Very much like Wenger's transfer policies..).
