3.
You've done a brilliant job of cleaning it up.
What, the thread?
 4.
My fault.. got a bit frustrated , people suggesting the bass had been in some sort of fire.. When I was told by guys I have known for years and trust 100% the full story of the bass.. Anyway .. I never said anyone called me a liar , I said I felt like one... Never mind life's to short .. Cheers john
Why did you remove the OP? I'm frustrated now! I want to see the story and the pics!
 5.
I came to the original "discussion" late - what I got from it was that he was rude and insulting. I think those who were debating his point with him weren't being listened to unless they were agreeing with. I think that many of the points made above hit the nail right on the head. TBH Nige I don't see what benefit you thought he brought to this forum. The point he makes about the only opinions he was prepared to listen to are those of players BETTER than him explains why he probably has nobody to talk to, hence why he has to try to stuff his opinion (is it an opinion when you're so clearly right??) down the throats of people on Bass Forums. It'll be interesting to see how long it will be before he's annoying users on the Bass2Bass forum. In real life I bet he's known as "Billy No-mates". I don't think we're missing anything by him not being here...
Entertainment
 6.
Oh I dunno - you used the term of abuse "bell-end" in a recent thread which I thought inspired. Along with "gob-sh*te" (not you) I'd completely forgotten about such words.
Good point See I was right when I said earlier I was being a hypocrite.
 7.
I'm told he can play - I didn't get to see them as he deleted the link to his YouTube videos, then the videos themselves as soon as he realised that they were there to be criticised, so I can't be sure - obviously he put in many hours of practice - maybe he should have used some of those to develop some social skills, manners and respect for others instead... Sorry Nige, I think he deserves everything he gets..
He's has a fantastic player, but his attitude is pretty obnoxious, doesn't mean we have to respond like for like though. I can't say what he 'deserved', can you? We could have had a great discussion with him since he was up for it and didn't disappear when he was challenged like some people do. But hey, some people got hot under the collar and spoiled it somewhat.
 8.
Banned in the end. A shame really, I thought he was terrific fun and not at all a cock.
I did too, but some folks on here can overreact. Sometimes I think we could have much more interesting conversations on here if we could keep cool and not resort to personal attacks for the lack of anything intelligent to say.
 9.
As my Cockernee Grandad (b. 1892) used to remark on such occasions as these: "A joke's a joke, but spitting in a blind man's hat's no joke." No, I didn't understand it either.
I'm probably just being hypocritical again, Skank.
 10.
Nige, while I have some real sympathy with the point you're making, Inti did pick the argument and then pursue it.
I concur. He's got an attitude, not one I agree with, and I've discussed it with him publicly and privately. The thing is, when we have people like Jake Newman on here who has all the qualities, knowledge, ability and more that Inti possesses, but with immense humility and a heartfelt desire to teach and inform, there is no argument. We know Inti's POV is pretty much invalid. It's just the petty digs and chuckling when he's not allowed on here that I'm a bit uncomfortable with.
 11. All this backstabbing of someone who's not allowed access to defend himself makes me a bit uncomfortable. It's not like slagging off Jeff Berlin or Alain Caron. Inti is a superb player who has a rare combination of technical skill and expressive nuanced playing. He has a very entrenched POV and you won't change his mind however the validity and considered logic or sense in your argument. Leave him alone or join TB and discuss it with him over there.
 12.
Here's lots of riffs all rammed together for you.
Great stuff! Really enjoyed that, thanks.

 16. 18. I still love my old band FISTER. I decided to leave the band not long before these were recorded and released on the debut album. My bro wrote all the songs and fronted the band on guitar and vocal. Steve Rooney on drums, Jason on bass. Heavy as f*** I thought in 1999. 19.
Can't believe it's taken this long!
I have a half eaten tub of Philadelphia Light in the fridge that's heavier than this
 20.
So I think while I am off this weekend I'll clean down my bass and restring it. As you play obviously the back of the neck picks up grease sweat and dirt. You can see on the neck the darker parts that are always in contact with your hand. Plus the fretboard has visible dirt too. As it's satin finished would lemon oil be a good idea to use on this? My GB has a ebony fretboard so lemon oil is great for feeding the wood. But the Shuker in question has a satin finished maple fretboard and neck. Lemon oil will leave a residue on non porus surfaces that is difficult to remove. Any hints or tips? Otherwise I was going to use a mild soap solution and a microfiber cloth Many thanks Ben
Not much point in using oils on varnish. The lemon in the oil is the cleaning agent so it will clean it. I'd avoid water, it could get under the frets if there is missing laquer.
 21.
Yeah, did anyone buy 'B-Sides and Rarities'? Loads of 80's covers in there. Having a Deftones day now; cheers Nigel! Truckstop
Oh sh*t! I must get that, will iTunes it when I get home. I am having a Deftones day, sitting here at work doing some serious admin drudgery and mashing my ears with Koi No Yokan It makes the work almost enjoyable.
 22.
I personally like how they are effortlessly huge in their sound, with a brilliant rhythm usually underlying each song. Much to be said for the simplicity of the guitars. I prefer a guitarist who thinks 'melody' rather than 'technical'. There is an underlying 80s influence...probably stemming from Tears for Fears and their melancholic approach.
The Cure figures heavily in Deftones DNA. Chino's a big fan.
 23.
I wish I could find a streaming copy of Headsty so you'd know what I was on about. I'll check out all these later, thanks
Yeah I looked for it and couldn't find anything, looking forward to hearing it, loved a lot of Open Heart Zoo but never bought anything else by him.
 24.
hehe! you probably mean 'heavy' to people that don't really experience 'heavy' on a regular basis Here's some examples of the heaviest riffs known to man or beast...
See, I don't find either of those heavy really. They just sound like someone had a bad breakfast.
 25.
The Deftones thread made me think of the riff at the end of Diamond Eyes (the song not the album)... is it the heaviest riff ever? Well, I still don't think it beats the riff on Headsty by Martin Grech. (It's a B side and the riff is right in the middle of the song) what are the other contenders?
Not sure if it can be classed as a riff, but I still think Rats!Rats!Rats! is one of the heaviest things I've ever heard, thrilling stuff.
