  1. This is a summary of where I've got to on your Q krispn. Differences between the 735A and P35 Unlike the 735A, the P35 has a couple of the key ingredients of the former 'flagship' passive BB the BB2025 thrown in: · it has one of the two wood treatment that the 2025 benefited from: the Initial Response Acceleration ('I.R.A') to give it a day one 'played in' feel; · it is a MIJ crafted bass, which I suspect accounts for a chunk of its premium pricing. EQ The key difference between the two is undoubtedly the EQ with the BB 735A having Yamaha's 3 band EQ and active / passive selector switch, whereas the P35 is purely passive. The EQ on the 735A follows a lot of 3 band EQs layout with volume dial, pup selector / blend dial, and then 3 band EQ in active mode and treble / tone roll-off only in passive mode. The new BB "3 series" passive basses have a VVT set of dials i.e. is a separate volume control for each pup and you blend accordingly. Weights and balance The P35 actually 'hangs' a little more comfortably off my frame than my other Yammys including the 735A. So when I put them all on the scales I was a little surprised to find: P35 (and NE2) - 10.2 lbs 735A (and 1025) - 9.6 lbs The combination of a slightly heavier body and lightweight tuners on the P35 gives it more of a balance between neck and body and, in consequence, there is a touch less neck dive on the P35.
  2. Hey buddy, sure, that is a very good question to be asking IMO. I've kinda answered that indirectly with the initial comments I've made on the BB1025 vs the BBP35, which are both purely passive. There is not a huge amount in it between those two basses, but the P35 does feel a little more comfortable to wear (better weight distribution) even though it's heavier, and a little higher quality overall. I managed to get my white 1025 for £550 as a new end of line model from the Yammy store. Would I pay £800 more for a new P35? Nope. Would I pay £350 more for a mint used P35, yes! Put it another way, I've currently got five Yammy basses and if I had to choose which two I would definitely want to keep, it would be the NE2 and the P35.
  3. The B3N got moved on back in Jan 'cos the Stomp was/is in a different league. However the ability to slip the B1X4 into a gig bag pouch and with the added fun of an expression pedal, means I can see barriers to me getting it out the door are going to just disappear. And because of my previous experience with ToneLib, it'll be a doddle to set it up with some half decent patches. In a live mix nuances of bass tone totally get lost for me, particularly with ear plugs in! And I already notice bass tone much more than my bandmates or audiences. So, slightly bizarrely, I'm likely to appreciate having a Stomp much more at home, where I can hear the difference, than when playing with my bands.
  4. Home 'creative' pedal board Live pedal board(!) (Ok so it doesn't arrive for a couple of days, but I'm already looking forward to it!)
  5. Very nice! What are you particularly keen on trade wise?
  6. No complaints from me! And hardly naff. If Zoom UK want to avoid online "retailers" taking a big cut of their profits (I get that a physical store gives you the benefit of seeing and hearing a bit of kit before buying but what added value are online retailers providing to us?) and pass some of the savings on to us, their loyal customers, where is the harm to me as the end user? No different to Amazon Prime offering free postage in my books.
  7. Wow! Congratulations - I have so much respect for any of us with a creative string to their bow! You gonna post a link to it on here for us?
  8. Great price for a very good little multi fx! Won't be on here long I suspect!
  9. Good question. But not one that is a burning issue for me; I'm good with using both 😂
  10. Except that the signal arriving at a particular pedal attached to an expression pedal may well have been modulated by previous pedals, so it will have an indirect effect on everything preceding. But maybe I am simplifying things too much as you say.
  11. Quantum tunnelling required, I suspect. Probably via a black hole.
  12. I'm outta new threads for today. What had you got in mind? Something on quantum tunnelling? 😄
  13. Hah! You're over thinking this: I'm a simple guy who uses his Stomp as a pretty, if slightly bulky, tuner. Let me put the Q another way: will the expression pedal on the B1/4 have the same impact on the signal from preceding pedals that a standalone expression pedal at the end of the chain does?
  14. How you liking the monosynth?
  15. +1^^ Exactly. Anyone fancy counting up the number of Fender basses currently in the FS? Then add the ones on Gumtree, eBay and being sold used by stores for good measure! 😎
  16. Thanks Dave. Just ordered the B1X Four from the same distributor. (Can now put off becoming expert on my Helix Stomp for another 6 months - 😂)
  17. OMG! This is excellent!! Thanks for posting.
  18. Bit of a sidetrack, I know, but don't tell me you're an Ibby fan as well as a Yammy fan?! If so I think I've just found a bass twin! Lol! If that SR900 had been a 5er (which the seller mentions he also has), I'd have been very tempted to snap it up myself at just £300. And at that price swapping out the Barts for some Nord big singles and maybe even putting a John East Pre would have have made for a cool little project and I suspect an awesome lightweight bass ( @M@23 just a thought! )
  19. Congrats indeed! What amp and bass will you be pairing it with? Come on - let's see a pic of the new rig and your bass in all its glory! 😎
  20. You do realise you're going to have to change your avatar from something classy and polished to something a bit icky and reeking of war criminals soon? 😄
  21. If we put a B1 Four with an expression pedal at the end of the signal chain, am I correct in assuming that the expression pedal will modulate all the preceding effects before the B1 Four and not just the B1 Four's own effects? If so, that's going to add another fun dimension in getting the X version, and for the additional £15 or so it's a lot cheaper than getting a standalone expression pedal.
  22. What are you going to be playing through? Unless I was going straight into a PA, I'm kinda struggling to see the need for an amp and cab sim, given that I'm pretty happy with how my amps and cabs sound.
  23. Haha! You only find that working the day after a new bass sucks?! What about every other day? 😂😁🤣
  24. In terms of all round capability combined with value for money the Zoom B3N is very hard to beat. The new Zoom B1 Four may, however, be a really good alternative, given it has the same chipset as the B3N.
  25. Although not Dave's reason, the B3 also has a DI out which the B3N annoyingly doesn't. (But otherwise it would seem that the B3N is the better unit).
