  1. Not that I have £2,700 to blow on this model(!) but, for anyone who does @gobasserk(?!), here's a nice little clip setting out the features of the BB2024MA:
  2. I thought the MA editions had reverse Ps? Was that not the case with all the MA models then?
  3. Classic case of one in one out?! And then there were 21 (again) 😁
  4. And then there were 20...😄 Well if you're going to fail, do it in style eh?! So you've gone from Ibanez to Sandberg (I headed in exactly the opposite direction!). But we're still both using BF SCs and avoiding compressors like unnecessary plague, so all is not lost. Haha! Anyway congrats - and thanks for being first to drop on this challenge, it's very gracious of you to save the rest of us our blushes!
  5. I should have added that the black headstock works a treat on that burst finish in a way that doesn't quite on the midnight blue...
  6. +1 ^^ Totally agree! Having a bit of variety seems to keep things tonally fresh for me.
  7. Yeah an equivalent quality 212 is going to beat a 112 every time in a band mix, IMO, and even in a quieter venue setting you can just turn the volume down! That Berg 212 is a superb cab and completely deserves to be gigged, which it will now be getting, rather than just being there for home use. The Fearless F112 will, however, be perfect for home use for me and will also much more likely get gigged as there will be space for it and a RCF sub in the back of my car (boot already full with the rest of the PA!) So win win with this particular trade!
  8. I've tried to ban our band doing any Justin Timberlake tracks on principle(!) but perhaps time to relent...
  9. +1 ^^ There was a wanted ad up for a P35 recently. I posted a link to it on this thread about 4 pages back.
  10. We try to 'refresh' our set lists from time to time and have just included a few new tracks that seem to be going down really well with our audiences. But these were all from 1988 to 2014. I had a start-of-the-year look at our set lists and noticed we've only got two tracks from the last five years (Jan 2015 to Dec 2019): Fonsi - Despacito (our lead vocals is bilingually Spanish which really helps!) and Portugal. The Man - Feel it Still. Had a listen to the top 20 best selling singles from 2019 this morning (believe me, it's the sort of productive / useful cra*p you get upto when you've signed up to a 2020 gear abstinence thread) but nothing jumped out at me as being an obviously good track to include in our sets! Be really interested to hear what modern tracks you have in your set lists from the past 5 years that are fun to play as a band and go down well with your audiences. Please feel free to post links of the tracks themselves or your bands playing them. Cheers AK
  11. Did I say 10/2 against? Looking very generous now... 😄
  12. Congrats! What are you going to be playing it through? You gonna get a chance to try out in a band mix soon? Waaaay back on this thread @jrixn1posted a couple of pics of his 434 with some bespoke PGs - looked fantastic. And if you want any PG Tips then @AndyTravis is our very own Mr T.
  13. That's the nice thing to having signed up to this thread. You know you shouldn't be getting any gear: so you low ball. If they say "no" you still feel virtuous (albeit only just, after all you've flirted big time right? 😁) If they say yes, then you've stopped caring about being on this thread. Win win!
  14. Yeah, but you've been a fan of Ibbys, you play through a BF SC and you're a bass player who's never used pedals live in 40(?) years of gigging. And no one has ever sacked you for not using a compressor. Not once. What's not to love about that? 😁
  15. I could lend you my spare SH and you could (if you like it) buy it off me for its current market value but on 1 Jan 2021. Nothing pre-agreed of course and you can return it to me at any time for no cost. ...Phew, bacon saved! Anyone else looking for a loophole, please PM me. My rates are sometimes reasonable.
  16. And yet I do recall that it was only days ago you were suggesting we put our wives out to work to buy each other basses...some folk never learn eh? 😁
  17. I think @bassfan should start putting some odds against our names as to who's gonna make it through January 10/2 against for you Walshy 😁
  18. And so it beings 😂
  19. @Bilbo sorry to hear about the heart attack - hope you've had a successful recovery and feeling mended. That sort of thing must always come as a shock. Quite a stilted year for me - a couple of bandmates moved away in both of my bands and our key lead vocalist was down with tonsillitis at start of last year, meant we did 26 in total, 21 of which were in the second half of the year. 75% of our gigs are functions these days but our regular pub gig has been a key foundation for building up the bands, and is still a lot of fun. As much as I would love to be as busy as some of my esteemed BCer's above, not sure that Mrs Krow would be too happy, so maybe 35 to 40 including some mid week gigs is a realistic number for me to be shooting for in 2020.
  20. Day 3 and no one's fallen off the wagon. Yet.
  21. PS anyone seen how many basses Geddy Lee has in his collection? Just sayin... 😉
  22. Wise words indeed. I knew I was doing something wrong and finally now I know: I really must stop trying to play two basses at once. Besides my bandmates have often said they looked silly strewn across my diminutive frame, necks clattering. One bass at a time it will be from now on!
  23. So are you now a bass GAS-free zone?
  24. And what's wrong with that? A bit of window shopping never hurt! Besides we need to know what we're saving up for in 2021! 😁
