So no chances of kicking him out or hooking up with the old drummer and the other guitarist and continuing that way? Seems if you have some people who can work together with part of a set already, you could be up and running as another group in no times, and if you are getting the gigs no problem getting them for the new one
No not really its his band( as in came up with the idea, but thats where it ends)to be fair. Old drummer has started up an originals band and has is alos doing an OU course. Second guitarist is busy as has a new baby due in the next few weeks. Just all coming to a head at the wrong time. If i left inwould probably walk away from music for a while to be fair. Tired of the battle to just have fun.

I'm having second thoughts about my current band at the moment. Guitarist is a serious control freak and knows all (even when he is prooved wrong he changes his tale and say that he meant the correct thing all the time). We have lost a drummer because of him and he has brought a new drummer in that i have to play BPM roulette ever practice and gig making it so hard to lock in. We are currently looking at a new singer (not because the old one is crap, he has an originals band that is starting to do things and can't always commit straight away but is a absolute top guy). Second guitarist is only doing the band because of me and the singer and i book all gigs which is a nightmare for a niche tribute act. And when i ask for help with them they all say that they hate sorting out things like that. Starting to dread practice i have this Wednesday. Frustrating thing is i love the live gigs when we do them and the material is not something i was fully aware of before i started playing it so it has been a good chalange for me.......hmmmm

I always thought these looked good but have no actual experience with them. They show them on a kingsman bass too. http://www.f1pick.com/#powerpnsbass

I always struggle in learning songs that i'm just not into. I have like them to want to learn them which doesn't always happen in my band as it kinda ends up being majority rules (not happy about that!) Trying to get my head round Get the Funk out by Extreme at the mo. Will get there just got to keep going at it. Agree with comments above, when you finally get that song you have been struggling with for a while and it clicks there is no better feel.
The wonderful Mrs S and I are going down to the show on saturday evening to attend on the Sunday. Since we have a seven seater with only two of us in it we are offering transportation to and from the Derby area. We would be leaving Long Eaton at about half five on Saturday afternoon and could swing by either Derby or Nottingham en route. We would be staying for most, if not all of the show before travelling back. No charge, but if anyone did wish to make a slight consideration towards the fuel that is entirely up to them. Any interest message me.
This would have been perfect for me as i live in Long Eaton too but decided to get a full weekend ticket so am heading down on the train at the crack of dawn on Saturday. Might see you there on the Sunday.

Had this problem with my RH450 too, had three drop off at our gig at the weekend. Already replaced 5 in the past. Good news about TC upgrading them

This is going to be a very noob question so please forgive me. What is the difference of a bass having active pickups and active electronics to a bass with passive pickups and a active electronics? Sound wise or otherwise. I have been looking (more drooling ) over some Warwicks and noticed some with full active pickups/electronics and others with Passive/active electronice. I understand that the difference between a full passive system and an active system is more of an "vintageish/warmer" (Passive) v's a "hotter/louder" sound (active), but with the two systems described above do you then get a mix of luke warm and boiling?? ha ha Having been a long time Fender Jazz player (love her too bits) with full passive electronics I am hankering for a bass with a bit more to it and i'm just a little confused on what is the great difference between the two types of systems. I know my ears will ultimately be the overall judge but who better to ask than you guys. Again sorry for the daft question.
