Is ths true? I've sold stuff on ebay and if a buyer couldn't be bothered leaving feedback I still got the paypal money (I think).
It depends on your feedback or if you don't have feedback then it's 21 days or something before the money is released. However I suspect this guys money would have been released immediately due to his feedback. You need to raise a claim if you want any action from the Seller. His Paypal account will automatically go into the red, owing £400 and he can't do anything until the case has been resolved. In saying all of that though you must be a sellers worse nightmare. He described the item accurately and you chose to buy it. I'm not sure you'd win the dispute, just because it's not right for you. You yourself have said that the item is near mint so it's not the sellers fault, he's fulfilled his part of the deal.
Also check you are actually paying the drummer enough attention. It's all too easy to get drawn up front talking keys etc. Are you one of those bassists that stands stock still? Sometimes rocking back and forth, using the bass neck to indicate the beat gets the point across. If they can see your beat and see the energy you are putting across a good drummer will respond.
+1 to this, communication between drummer and bassists, however subtle, is the key (imho) to a nice tight sound.
I hate to put a dampener on things, but with lottery odds, this bass is not going to be yours anytime soon However, having typed that, I may just be made to eat my words! Rich
No Rich, you're right, I didn't even get 3 numbers Edited for wrong smiley :-) -
Steve just gifted me 2 sets of DB end strings, this after the first lot got lost in the post. Top bloke, have no hesitation in dealing with him.

Allright Jamie, How you doing. I'm from near your side of the woods, East Kilbride. I haven't lived there for a while though, I've been in England for the last 10 years. Welcome to the site, I'm sure you'll be hooked before long and that MIM Fender will soon be a USA one or possibly some other Bass that does the rounds on here.

Two tuners that seem to be at odds with each other.
PURPOLARIS replied to Marvin's topic in Accessories and Misc
One is a Korg GA-30 (small cheap little thing) the other is the tuner on a Zoom B2.1u pedal. Tune up on one and the other will then say you're slightly flat (sometimes sharp) and vice verca. I'm assuming it's because neither is particularly accurate as they are fairly cheap (i suppose).
I've got a Korg DTR1000 tuner and a Zoom b9.1ut pedal. They both say pretty much the same when it comes to tuning. I used to have a B2 Zoom pedal before I got my B9 and that matched up with my Korg too. I would tend to go with the zoom. -
The basic fender bag is a thin cover - not much protection. Go for a Protec (£25?) or the Thomann fake brown leather (£22?) its all about the padding....
I got a really good Rockbag a few years ago off Fleabay for about £15. Well padded with loads of pockets etc. You can unzip the front bag and use it separately as a mini rucksack if you want to. I don't know if they're still available but that is a great bag for a great price.
hiya im the proud owner of a westone thunder 2 with an xlr out on it. im a little confused by the xlr though..... im guessing it has a balanced out, so im unsure what type of lead i should be using with it and i'v had varying responses from different sources. everything was great until the first time i gigged it using an unbalanced lead. got a really nasty hum through the house bass amp. i borrowed the soundmans balanced xlr to jack lead and didnt get any sound at all so had to just soldier on and cut all the mids and highs from my tone to kill the hum. any advice on the correct type of lead greatly appreciated, thanks for your time lewis
It looks like you might be playing it the wrong way round

Hohner "The Jack" - double ball end bass strings
PURPOLARIS replied to PURPOLARIS's topic in Accessories and Misc
I've been reading up on them and Elite strings pop up quite often, they seem to be a popular choice and not expensive either. -
I've just bought a Hohner Headless Bass and it needs new strings. I've never had a headless bass before so I was wondering if anyone had some tips as to which strings work well and which ones don't. I normally use D'Addario flats, would these be ok to use or should I go with something different for this bass.

PURPOLARIS replied to cd_david's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Bought this recently but have no current use for it, It is not "AS NEW" as described in the original ad, Its is oldish and looks used with the battery cover for the transmitter unit missing. I am happy to let this go for what i paid, which was fair for the unit £50 collected or plus postage? Cheers Dave ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ How on earth can that be described "as new" ? The mind boggles. -

4 to 5 string precision converter kit
PURPOLARIS replied to Annoying Twit's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I admire Trev Wilkinson's inventiveness, e.g. his recently released robot tuning bridge for strats. But, I'm not sure this converter kit where you end up with one string being tuned from the bridge, and the rest from the headstock, is one of his better ideas. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wilkinson-USA-4-5-st...=item23087dea11
I've been wanting a 5 string for ages but the problem I have is my very good 4 string. I'd need a very good 5 string to replace it. This contraption might've worked for me if the bridge was a direct replacement hole wise but I don't fancy screwing up my USA Jazz with any more holes than it came out with. -
You can have a look at my Musicmaster here : http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14065 I also have a short scale Gibson LP, that's very very nice indeed but weighs as much as a tank.
That Musicmaster looks great, is the Bronco the Squier version of that ?

My Ibanez AGB 200 is great guitar for the price I think. I managed to get mine for £150. I'm currently thinking of getting another short scale bass possibly a Mustang.

I don't think I'll ever sell this, I've had quite a few basses come and go but this one is a keeper.
