1.
I've had a Korg DTR 1000 in my rack for about a year now and its been brilliant. Not sure on the price new now though, but they do pop up for sale on here from time to time.
+1 for the Korg. I've had mine for the around the same amount of time. I paid £70 second hand on Ebay for it, you should pick up a new one no problem for around £100
 2. I've never even had a hint of neck dive on my J-Bass, I don't know where you get that from.
Fender J: fat body and skinny neck. more neck dive than a bangkok street walker
3. Mint Green might look ok
I am awaiting delivery on my new MIJ P Bass 62 in Vintage White/Rosewwod with a tort pickguard. I am not a big tort fan, so i would like some opinions on what other colours of scratchers would suit vintage white. PS. Black is a given
4. Thanks for that, I've just bought a 4x10 (barring the sale falling through) to go with my 1x15. I did start to wonder if I could use the two of them at the same time. Can't wait to hear it fired up on full throttle :-)
Found this manual for the Trace Mk. V gear and it says that 4Ω is the minimum impedance, so 2x 8Ω cabs should be fine: http://www.britishaudioservice.com/inst/MK%20V%20GP11.pdf
5. Yeh, that's why I was hoping someone might have a manual and can make it a bit clearer. I reckon it's safe to run two 8ohm cabs through it, it doesn't make sense otherwise.
I would guess that you can run a single 8Ω cabinet from each jack (for a total of 4Ω assuming the jacks are wired in parallel), though the label isn't exactly clear.
6. Ok, I kind of get the basics with the Ohms but this doesn't make sense to me so I need a bit more help. Is there a book called Ohms For Dummies ? Anyway, my amp is pictured below. Am I right in thinking I can't run two cabs from this amp unless they're 16ohm's or there about ? Or is it as I suspect that I can run 2 x 8 ohm cabs as it doesn't say 8ohm minimum and is saying that it needs 8ohm's in each one ? Possibly someone with the same amp can answer my question. I've looked for a manual but can't find one for this amp. Thanks in advance.
 7. Haha that's good. Please tell me you've not got the Jeckyll and Hyde syndrom too
Posted by Jeckyll and again by Hyde
8. Are you guys all talking about the same pub here ? It's strange how the comments can go from extremely negative to extremely positive, I think they should rename the pub ....................... The Jeckyl and Hyde lol.

 11. I have done up a fair few Squier Strat's and Tele's and sold them on. The Japanese ones are the best followed by the Korean , Indonesian and Chinese ones in that order. I've bought some Japanese and Korean Squiers which have Fender bridge (stamped saddles) and tuners as standard. Affinity's are ok once set up but look for a Standard Squier if you can as it has better quality all round ie thicker body etc. All IMHO of course.
 12. It's posts such as this that make this site such a good one :-) "Quote name='trent900' date='Apr 25 2009, 04:31 PM' post='472249'] As the title suggests really: I have an Ibanez PD7 sitting idle which I've never managed to make sound right for me. My GKs drive channel handles my limited distortion needs anyway. Mint condition - but one small problem: I can't find the power supply. I only have the pedal, nowt else. Still, if you want a PD7 and don't mind collecting it from my house in Derby, chuck us a PM. While you're here, you're very welcome to a never-used Warwick 4U rack bag. It never inspired me with confidence but if you're hard up and need to rack something light (effects and compressors maybe) it might do you. It's in my way anyway. Please take it away. Looking forward with hope to a bit more bedroom space, Jon
13. Can I just say WOW to the guitars above :-) As for the Jazz pickups, I've got a USA Deluxe model with the SCN ones and they've got great output with a nice throaty growl when driven hard. I love the sounds it produces.
Yes, I've always found the Japanese Fender Jazz pickups a little buzzy and lacking output. My new American one has massive output & is as quiet as a mouse. Let me know how the Norstrand changes goes. I've always fancied something like a Sadowsky with the big singles on board.
16. Am I right in thinking that the top cab has 8 speakers and the bottom cab none. Wouldn't it be worth your while taking 4 out of the top and putting them in the bottom.
Hi, I have two 4x10 matamp cabs for sale, they're about a year old and are in good condition apart from one little rip in the vinyl on the front of the bottom cab, I'm based in London and would prefer pick up, but I'll courier if you want. I'm looking for 750 for the pair. Top cab is four 150 watt celestions, top cab is four 200 watt celestions. Sweet. Email me on [email protected] if you're interested. Cheeeeeers.
18. Mine was 150 watt but it was way louder than that, it more than kept up with the drummer and guitarists, I don't think I ever took it past half way.
any idea what watts it is i know trace watts are louder than some others but just a bit of a guide would do please
19. It's a great amp, I used to own one and sold it because I wanted separates. I'm sorry I sold it.
