  1. I think you can get insurance against saxophonists turning up ?
  2. Yes. You could have a faulty pot in there. Electromechanical components are always high on the list of possible causes of failure. You can test the capacitor you remove.
  3. I'd say work out what is going on with the existing circuit first. Suggestion - remove the cap. Then check that tone pot has no effect.
  4. Final Price Drop on this. £35 posted mainland UK. Thanks for reading.
  5. Sounds like you need to take a look at the wiring. Sketch it out to see if as expected Vol / Tone configuration.
  6. Price Drop on this before hitting Gumtree/eBay on Sunday. £40 posted mainland UK. Thanks for reading.
  7. Had a drink in the Hawley some years ago before going to see the legendary Young Marble Giants at Dingwalls. And as it happens had a drink in the Good Mixer on Saturday. Sports on the TV but a nice crowd tbf. Toilets are indeed an afterthought 🙄 Good staff though whenever I've popped in when in Camden. And conveniently near the Bass Gallery emporium.
  8. So I don't want to put people off doing what they want to do - but isn't a "Jam Night" often more accurately a "Clique Night". And often conflated with an "Open Mic". Last Open Mic I did with a singer songwriter type I know was going okay until someone running it decided my bass was too loud and turned it down. Top Stuff 🙄 Now I can't hear myself and the singer's "loose" sense of time means I can't compensate. Magic 😳
  9. Also "met" - in the loosest sense of the word - Peter Hook twice and managed not to say anything stupid imo 🙂 But these were at DJ / Book events so not sure it counts 🤔
  10. This may be pushing it a bit - but had the quickest of words with Toby Jones in London on Saturday. Now I know he's an actor rather than a musician. But you have to see Barbarian Sound System. 😳
  11. If "playing support to..." counts now then I was in a band that supported Dodgy (if you remember 🤣) in Cardiff. I recall annoyance that they would allow our stand in drummer to use the main body of their kit. He had brought his snare and cymbals thus necessitating me (not the drummer but the only car owner/driver) to retrieve his kit from the rehearsal studio or wherever - it was a long time ago 🙂. Then we couldn't see the audience for dry ice but someone kept shouting iirc "F"*k off" throughout. I think it turned out to be the singer from the guitarist's other band 🙄 And we didn't get paid .....😡
  12. Was that on a "daisy chain" or some multi cable/ breakout box arrangement ?
  13. Yes. I looked at those type of boards. But given the need to put them in some enclosure etc I opted to go with cable only solution for space and convenience. I have a few bits that take centre positive power anyway do good to have the option.
  14. I'm planning to have a go using USB PD Powerbanks with cables to request 9V / 15V. Voltage outputs seem fine. Not yet tried on pedals simply because I need to build polarity adaptors to go from the standard Centre Positive output to Centre Negative for pedals.
  15. Rechargeable PP3 option needn't be overly expensive. Compared to the cost of replacing non-rechargeables a few times it makes sense imo https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08L6BP93F/ref=pe_4093621_934531491_em_1p_1_lm?asc_source=01HEJFKGGCEKTBGE4PSDCMVYDE&tag=snxgb58-21
  16. EDEN chorus pedal. With original 15V power supply. Never gigged. Photos below. Mixing Desk not included 🙂 In fact it is better than when new 😳 I noticed noise when adjusting pots. Not "pot noise". Worked out that it was due to my fingers touching the metal top plate. The paint on the enclosure meant it wasn't connected to 0V via the enclosure. Sorted that then noticed that paint was causing a poor connection between the two parts of the enclosure so sorted that. Then all good. 17. Going back to the initial post. I'd make the point that you can't reasonably expect the original discount (due to the finish) to be reflected in a new neck price. But seems you have resolved that anyway by reprofiling etc the current neck. And tbh if you've already had a couple of hours "consultation" it sounds like you're getting a decent deal. Sounds like a useful luthier. Might want to give them a shout on here ?
  18. It's all physics. Everything is 🙂
  19. Apologies for double post. WiFi slow thing while out front with cat 🙄 fwiw just home post Nouvelle Vague gig. Not sure where the threshold here is...
  20. Not sure where the threshold here is but...played a gig with Catatonia in Cardiff and Cerys did BVs on the demo of a band I was on. Being a friend of our singer and working upstairs from the studio attached to Grassroots youth project. Cardiff 90s "scene" centred on Clwb Ifor Bach. Although gig was in the Stage Door venue near St Davids shopping centre.
