Familyman is using Eden now although he did have a Ampeg 15 in his last rig, but i think he's endorsed by Eden and Robbie Shakespear is with Markbass. But yeah most players i've seen tend to use the Ampeg fridge and SVT.

I've used Markbass up until recently and there was something just missing in my warm dub tone, i cannot describe what it is-maybe the speaker configuration i was using?. I am using my very unreliable Eden WT800A currently and that has the sound i am after through my Eden 2x10 and a Fender pro cab 15" with an upgraded 350W Em Kappa speaker. With the Eden i have the belly pounding bass sound again and the drummer loves it!-the Markbass had the sound ish, almost, but not the moving air bit-even when i tried the LM2 head with the same speaker set up . Its been a shame to cross off neo speakers (my back loves them!) but for me and imo the Markbass neo's & amp were not shifting the reggae air i needed - maybe their 6x10 would?....don't get me wrong though i think Markbass is really great stuff, particularly for funk, but not as good at reggae for me as my Eden is. Anyhow back to the original Q-i'm looking for a new amp...i think an Eden WT550 is what i need but just wondered about the EA vibe and reggae. i plan to find a repairer too for my Eden WT800A-any ideas? Thanks for the comments guys.

Sold a lovely Markbass combo to Wayne, he was a great pleasure to deal with, sorted the courier and collection, good communications all round, quick payment and a great guy-buyers/sellers deal in confidence. Cheers Wayne and enjoy the combo as much as i have. Lee

Got my eye on one of these. Want to use it for reggae/dub and odd bits of funk with another band, nice & light and most importantly loud!!! Any opinions?

Ever heard E, W & F's tune called 'Bad Tune' ?....man its a bad tune-i still have that album on L.P.....funky as fock-then they went all disco cheese-paid the bills though !

3 bass related things that suck to me are........ 1) Planet waves cables....unbreakable my arse, i'm on my second in 2 years-cha,...and who keeps the packaging to send them back-duh! 2) 5 string Status Groove bass...really sucked imo and sold the very next day-maybe just a bad one. 3) Recording bass on Cubase on a PC...Macs and Logic are far superior - ....i'm dead! 3.5) Treble on bass - phat dub tones for me, helps with my rhythm deficiencies oh and generally love to hate guitarists (not all though...most of them)...far too loud and moan at everything!

Never really got into the Warwick's thang, thick uncomfortable necks, nasal woody sound with no bottom, and well... i thought they were a bit overrated generally...... And soooo, i did a trade recently and ended up with a 96 Warwick Corvette, admittedly it has had good upgrades to EMG's and EMG pre amp, and wow this thing really rocks................well actually it funks for me to be honest! I haven't stopped funking on it, my terrible slap almost sounds audible, ...its weird because i don't really want to like it that much, i don't want to become attached because its kinda bass number 2/3 and having also recently sold my main Jazz bass to fund a 79 MM ray i feel guilty. I keep picking up this Warwick though, it has something paranormal going on about it, i get drawn to it,...it has a slimmer neck than i remember of Warwicks i tried many moons ago, it has a nice ass (bottom) too, and well i even like the ergonomics and general looks....does it do DUB? Its only a matter of time and i'll be singing the praises of those spiky BC Rich bitches I think i am becoming less judgemental but more mental every day, must be my day job i guess Anyway thought I'd bizarrely share this as losttheplot.com didn't yield any help for to me see sense in what i'm thinking.
