1. It's a shortscale (31") which clearly came as a surprise to the guys in Wunjo and also to their excellent guitar tech.
2. This is pretty good, too, especially when he gets to the thumb extensor (about 90 seconds in). https://youtu.be/uPO-zST-7EE
3. Watch this, especially from about 8:30 onwards. https://youtu.be/XqBRxu21oZc
4.
Congratulations, outstanding purchase Sir! I was only looking at this on the Wunjo site last night thinking what a great piece it is. Any change of some sound clips?
Sound clips? Nah! Come round and try it for yourself ...
5.
What's under the ashtray? Mutes?
Yup, the original foam as far as I can make out.
6. Thanks mate, and I do understand about the exchange rate! This is one of those basses that I've decided to sell if the right offer is made, but I'm in absolutely no hurry to get rid of it. Chances are that I'll still have it when you've got the money together.
7. Are you sure about the weight? I have a P5 and a PJ5 and they both weigh nearer 7.5lbs than 9.5lbs. Extreme lightness is one of the features of Mike Lull basses that I like the most. GLWTS
8. Sounds even better through a vintage WEM ... 9. Did I need it? No, not really. Do I like it? Oh yes ... lots. 1965, all original, plenty of genuine play wear, no relic'ing. 10. So there I was, walking down Denmark Street and minding my own business when I stopped to have a look in the window at Wunjo's. Mal paso, mate, mal paso. A little while later, money had changed hands and I was carrying
11. I've never really got the thing with the tuners on the underside of the headstock, and 'signature' models have never really interested me. The one that really floats my boat is the T5, but I would really struggle to justify buying one.
12. He's done himself no favours by describing it as a Speakeasy model.
13.
For practice together and exchanging ideas. Medway, Kent area.
When I was first starting out on bass, I actually found it more useful to hook up with guitarists than other bass players. I was self-teaching from books (especially Stuart Clayton's excellent Crash Course For Bass) so what I really needed was people I could jam along with so as to practise the techniques I was learning.
14. In my studio I have storage boxes filled with gear, the contents written on the box. So there's a box labelled "XLR leads", and a box labelled "Jack leads", and a box labelled "Kettle leads", etc. A few weeks ago I noticed that someone had added some graffiti to one of the boxes. It now reads "Jack leads, from the back". Hope this helps.
15. If you're playing with your two daughters then this is an easy fix. Forget the audience, forget being on stage ... just focus on the girls. Assuming that you'll be playing next to them, just arrange the three of you so that they're facing their mates in the audience, while you're side-on to the audience (and not looking at them) and concentrating on what matters, which is making sure that they enjoy the experience. Good luck.

18. Having read through this thread, I have to say that I feel that Congratulations are in order ... http://youtu.be/us3dQ0nnlHY
19. Over two hours and still no Mackem jokes ...
20. The design is so minimalist that the camera was unable to find anything to focus on ...

23. I've used one of those for ages at rehearsals, both on DB and on electric bass. They're even better if you get the backrest too! I found mine way too heavy and clumsy to carry around though. Most of the bands I'm involved with rehearse in my space so that makes it easy for me.
24. Welcome aboard, and the KK BabyBass is a good choice ... I use mine extensively, especially in the smaller venues. Choosing alternative strings for DB and similar is a horribly expensive thing to experiment with. In your position, I'd just phone Kris and ask for his opinion. He's a really nice guy and very helpful, plus he knows exactly which strings work best with his own basses. As for the preamp, it really depends on whether you'll be playing through your own backline, or going through the house PA (or, of course) both at once. In most situations I find it best to have a preamp with me, but not one designed for DB like a PlatPro. I've had the best results with an MXR M81, standard pedal size (i.e. small) but very versatile and with the functions/features you're actually likely to need when playing a KK live. A decent alternative is the Hartke Bass Attack, but I'd steer clear of the Sansamp range for this particular application.
