1.
If Mr Dunky had done the search himself, I would have never discovered this gem of a fact.
Me either. I like Pino even more now!
2. I don't get their popularity, but I reckon Grohl being a pretty cool bloke has something to with it. I can listen to any given Foos tune in isolation and enjoy it, but I'd be bored solid if I had to listen to a whole album. Some catchy stuff, but formulaic and samey to me.
3.
Percy Jones, Jimmy Johnson and Bruford era Jeff Berlin.
Thanks. YouTube here I come!
4.
His 3 others were Sid Vicious, Guiggsy from Oasis and Peter Hook!
No Lemmy?
5.
,Jaco played some great stuff and some dross. He played well on some crap tunes and poorly on some great tunes. For me, when he was hitting, he was hitting and his hit rate was the envy of a generation. He opened doors for me that I didn't even know were closed. What he does for anyone else is of no interest to me. He was 'my man', along with 3 others, and I sometimes still hear him today and go 'wow'. There aren't many that do that anymore.
I don't think I can add anything to this thread, partly because I know nowt, and partly because all the expected posts are already in. I'd really like to know who your '3 others' are though?
6. Just get a theramin... way more fun, and a bit more showy!
7. I'm pretty sure the most obvious visual difference is the headstock shape.
8. Caught him at Sonisphere in 2010, and Cropredy in 2013, and for my money he's still got it, if that's your thing. Really entertaining.
9.
Maggie May?
According to the lyrics, Maggie definitely will!
10. It's certainly an elegant looking instrument. It's less matte than this pic makes it appear, glossier, but not overly so.
11. Steve Harris & Nicko McBrain. Obviously it's a niche thing stylistically, but they're almost telepathic. Known for spending a great deal of time on practicing together without the band. Probably not wide ranging enough to qualify as 'best ever'but they do their thing wonderfully.
12.
Now Then by Stiff Little Fingers...even the band don't like it but I think it is definitely one of their best......Bits of Kids, touch and Go and Falling down being my pick of the tracks
I'm with you on that. I even like the cover of Love of the Common People on there. Albums - I bought Spilt Milk by Jellyfish back the early 90s, and to this day maintain it's one of the best pop records ever, despite every I introduce to it telling me it's sh*te.
13. That's just ridiculous. Can someone please take this to save me from an expensive divorce?
14. Limited as my understanding is, in the context of the song 'bad' is out of time and/or out of tune... so basically, me!
