  1. No one opted for “Smell the Glove”? Will have to make do with this iconic one from Joy Division then: The Smiths artwork was always pretty good but the 7” often better than albums:
  2. Nothing wrong with ‘80’s NME territory! Actively searching for music and eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new release or tour. It made it all so much more enjoyable and far less of a disposable commodity.
  3. If we drift a few miles east Gaye Bikers on Acid
  4. Well if we include the surrounding areas: The Specials- Coventry The Wonder Stuff / Neds Atomic Dustbin- Stourbridge(ish) Judas Priest But Sabbath and The Specials are enough for me. One of the best metal bands and the best of the Ska bands.
  5. Thanks to everyone who offered advice. I have been lent a very well loved Hagstrom/Futurama Short Scale which my son has been told he can keep if he sticks with the practice. Not a bad incentive as it’s a cool little bass with a great sound and bags of fun to play.
  6. Thankfully no Brummies in the family. Much more classy Nuneaton heritage.
  7. Trumpton riots - half man half biscuit
  8. Not had the surgery but find Tumeric Tea helps with arthritis. Tumeric in general but easy to absorb in boiled water.
  9. Cheers. My son likes the look of the Ibanez GSRM20 GIO miKro Bass but has a habit of not sticking with things and it’s not a bass I would want to keep if he changes his mind. The G&L and Musicman Sterling would be interesting.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I will definitely look out for the Vintera as have a Vintera P and am very pleased with it. Will seek out the other threads for more info …
