1. Most things have been mentioned. I'm surprised no one's included a roll of chickenwire to protect the band Hamster
 2.
Do Ashdown actually have a testing department?
Yes - a very soflty spoken chap called Guy works there. I had a chat with him today and he confirms he's had a few in with the same problem. They've identified a fault with one of the power boards and it seems to be a bad batch from the production line. I don't think Ashdown have a load of spare power boards laying around as the Superflys are all made in China and shipped over. Hamster
 3.
Ummmmm yeah.... ..... whats the difference? Cheers Si
AFAIK, you use a stone or file to dress the frets, so it's the same thing Hamster
 4.
Hi Hamster, Andrew Scrimshaw set up my bass and installed pickups and booster in it. Ged is already on the list. Bob is working on a guitar of mine at the moment - happy so far. I guess that leaves Simon out for the time being, hope someone else from the forum can vouch for him - I am certain that anyone here would get a great service from him if that matters. Tigran
Thanks Tigran - added to list Hamster p.s. - Has anyone used Simon Jones and can give a thumbs up?

 9. A recurring theme on the forum is "Where can I go to get a good bass"... "Where is a good bass shop to try some out" etc, so maybe it's time for a sticky on the subject. Post away with your recommendations! Please include the: Website address - or street address if they are still pre-computer luddites Phone number Location Perhaps it might be an idea to score the shop? - Give a mark out of 10 for; Range of stock Prices Service Some are happy to pay a little more over a cheaper shop for a better service, some may just be looking for the ultimate deal. Let's keep the list to places where YOU have had dealings, and a polite rule, if you have a shop - High Street or Cyberspace - please don't recommend yourself. Don't be put off if there is already a post for a particular shop - score them with YOUR opinion and experience so we can get a better overall picture. Also, please don't include 'one make' custom builders unless they also stock a wide range of basses. I will add the posts to this first post, and amend their 'marks out of ten scores' as they average out. 11.
Er - No. You can only one run cab or two in series. There is a sticky that explains all about impedence.
Er - Yes / No. If you daisy chain them you will end up with 2 ohms impedance. You can run both cabs if you use a series cable or rewire them to series. If you PM OBBM and ask him to make up a series cable you will be sorted. IMHO much easier than messing with your cabs. 13.
I've asked the seller whether it's BO or NT. You can see it's a BO and she confirmed this. I then politely pointed out that she was quoting prices for a NT, no reply
It's been re-listed with lower prices
 14.
Dear all, I have been playing bass for about a year now and I would like to know what my next step is? I have nice gear, A Warwick rock bass corvette a fender Mike Dirnt signature series and an aerodyne jazz bass, i been looking though music and I would say I’ve got to an intermediate standard - does anyone have any books/music to recommend that I could get my teeth into. It is a bummer now the web based tab sites seem to have been shut off I’m struggling. Any ideas? Sqidge
Hi - and welcome! What kind of music are you interested in? - I have a few tab files I can put up for you. Hamster

Ieuan
Hi and Welcome Ieuan :0 Bit of a tough one for the new music genre - how about "Menfolk Group Track" or "Mongol Pucker Kraft" music (which are anagrams what you play) Hamster

 18.
Its just a bit weird, that a couple of guys above said that a 1/16" should fit, but it doesn't on both basses. Do fender have their own sizes? Probably just email Fender UK in a sec Cheers Si
The hex holes on the saddle adjusters may have been enlarged by a previous owner trying to do the same thing. I've tackled this problem by using fine emery paper to take the rough edges off the end of a 5/64 hex key, which then slips in a treat. Hamster
 19.
Hi everyone! Ok.. apologies I have been away for a day or so... to do a little investigation for some new cabs. I'm off out again this weekend elswhere, but so far I have found out the following... I don't think I like MarkBass cabs. They have a great tone, just not a tone I like. I'm not too excited about Warwick cabs at the moment, but only had a chance to try a couple. However, on Steve (CrazyKiwi) 's advice I went to try some more Epifani gear today. I went for for a trott down to the bass gallery to see Alex, infact. Lovely bloke. So we had a play with the Epifani 4x10 and the 2x12.. quite nice, lovely clarity. But didnt really offer anything more than my Tech cabs. I started to wonder if selling them was such a good idea after all! I also had a chance to pull out some EBS cabs for a thrash. Still the 4x10's left me wanting. I don't know. Maybe it was the shop acoustics? Well.. no... I was asking Alex about the 6x10's, when he piped up " We have one in stock!" *nan taylor voice* welllllllllllllllllll... stone me... I fawwt i was gonna die with shock... the fackin liberty....! I think I wil just end the report here! Every other cab after the Epifani 6x10 UL sounded like wee wee. I'm gonna try to prove the fact wrong.. but I think I may have found another step to sonic nirvana! Is it better than the Techs? Well.. that I can't answer. I'd love to hear John's new Tech 6x10. I reckon it will have simialr 'cab eating' abilities. The Epifani 6x10 VS 1 of my Tech 4x10's is no contest. I think 2 4x10's would have been similar, but the one cab solution looks like a step closer! One to be recommended on this list.
Are we going a little OT here? - The Epifani 6x10 cab weighs in at 92lbs - a lightweight cab??? Hamster
 20. +1 I do believe the 'Ayes' have it Hamster
 21.
She's the one and only bass minx, oh yes she is. x
Jo Ignore that twit funkmunky and ask yourself a question - does he dribble more over your basses or you?? Seen you play many times with Aynsley Lister, you're a great player with an excellent ear for getting your EQ spot on. Will see you on 13th at the Boom Boom gig Hamster
 22.
It just doesn't seem normal (or acceptable!) to me. I'm going to set it up elsewhere to see if it could be something interfering, but I doubt it. The sound is at a constant level, irrespective of the gain or output volume or eq settings. Sounds to me like a fault. I have already taken it back but I may have to be more insistent next time. Any other Superfly owners out there with this problem?
Yes. Same problem on one channel. It went back to Ashdown to be repaired. They sent it back 'repaired' but the fault was still there. Now taking it back to Soundcontrol for a full refund. Hamster
