  1. Yeah, I think in that case the Klusons will fit but the holes will need to be taken in to consideration. I think the plates could hide the holes though, I can't remember!

With all these products you've been sharing here and with me privately, you seriously have a great business proposition. I'm seriously impressed. These feet, the screen protector and 'the other stuff' ;o) . Insanely good. Take my money!
  3. If the keys that were originally on there were the Gotoh FB(?) type which was usual for Japanese Fenders (and it certainly looks like they were the type looking at the imprint on the headstock) then the Gotoh Kluson types will fit on as I've had them on a few of my CIJ basses. You will need to fill those holes first though as the screw holes on the Klusion plates are in a different position.

Setting up the board at a gig.. Here's the board inside the flightcasse lid.

Oh yes, I completely forgot to mention! Yes, usually I would actually just leave the lift out board in the lid on stage. There's still plenty of room even with the lid lip. However I have had Roqsolid make me a 'tough bag' that I can carry my board around in when the flightcasse is a bit much. Yes, I have to say that the screen protector is absolutely brilliant. It has been to a good few gigs now and hasn't come off or got in the way. In fact, it's so good I actually forget it is there!

Oh - I should add: I am using the bicycle chain method to fix my helix to the board. No sticky, no velcro, works a treat! The pedals are using chain links but with cable ties acting as removable straps. My own idea that works really well. Again, no mess.

Hi @intime-nick and @BigRedX - Yes, I actually have a case going here, I was going to advertise it for sale but where I got it from ended up having a big sale and the cost of shipping ended up being prohibitive, so I decided not to advertise. It's this one: https://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/industry/product.asp?item=spider-guitar-effects-pedal-board-flight-case-extra-large-7628-4748 - I'll get a price together for mine. Let me grab a picture of my board to see how much space there is around my Helix. You do have the option of their next size up case the XXL with a much larger pedal board.
  9. He he he!! No problem! Happy to answer that one! All of my 'main' instruments (5, 6 and 7 strings) are around 16mm spacing. It seems logical that having been so used to the spacing on those, I try a 4 string in the same configuration. For fast pick work, it's a definite benefit - (you only have to ask guitarists to confirm that lol). I'm intrigued and at some point I'll test the theory and report back. Also, looking at a longer scale, say 36", very low tunings will deliver a better tone. As for oddity.. he he, I think I'll take that. That pretty much sums up my playing and my gear at times!
  10. Close string spacing?
  11. That would be me! My Bass (and Guitars) have been (successfully) paying my Mortgage and been feeding my children for many years now. Oh and paying for my accountant ... who gives my money too the taxman.Hmm.. lol

  14. As Ambient says, bot GarageBand and Logic have good drum sequencers built in, but if you are not using a Mac and you also want an application that works stand alone, then specifically Toontrack's EZ Drummer 2 has got to be one of the best in terms of sounds, ease of use and price. I use it virtually everyday and I'm still finding cool things to do with it. http://toontrack.com The loops that come with the app are arranged in a 'finder' so that you can either tap in a groove that you are looking for and it will list hundreds that match, or you can select by a playing style (say half-time rock) and it will offer up a whole pile of grooves that might suit a chorus, or an intro. Fills and breaks are also included. One function I really like is that sometimes I find a cool groove but the kick drum doesn't match my bass line. That's ok as you can remove just one kit drum from a groove and replace it leaving all the other hit-hat and snare detail in place. You can create songs structures in the time bar and when the whole thing is ready you can export your work. Or, you can do all of this from within your DAW of choice because the app also runs as a plug in. You can trigger it via MIDI using a keyboard or an electric drum kit.
  15. I reckon @obbm would be able to make you something amazing!
  16. These don’t have disconnecting cables? So it’d be a case of breaking the shells to replace the cables ? i know its possible to buy new cables for resoldering but it’s whether or not splitting the earphones casing is what you want to do.
  17. Probably best to let us know what headphones you have!
  18. Always time for a bit of bass love

Oh you legend! Wow I wonder if someone will make a conductive version rather than use the copper tape!
  20. I'd love to see it just from the description irrespective of if I needed a bass or not ha ha!!!!!
  21. For once, unbelievably, I'm going with "Jaco only needed.." blahdee blahdee blah Just 4 strings for this plan.
  22. Excellent! 15mm ha! That's insane... but also very exciting. I used to own a Gerald Veasley signature bass that had a 14mm spacing over 6 strings. I miss that bass. This thread has got the cogs whirring. Thank you Basschat, this is either going to end up being the cost of a bridge.. or.. a whole lot more!

I'm really hoping that somewhere it's possible to save the level of the pedal at zero rather than max in this case.
  24. Agreed! Tone, brilliant; Weight, brilliant; Balance sat down, brilliant. It's just my forearm and elbow that gets in the way of the body 'wing'!
  25. Yes yes, @Pete.young also mentions the same.
