1. Any chance you can post a picture of the back of the headstock without the strap thing. I may be interested but not til May.
2. Surprised this is still for sale. I have to say I have one which only got better with use.
3. I have a status jazz retro bass, the graphite neck feels great. However, it can be a little bit to clinical for me. I seem to have copious amounts of top end even with the treble backed off (its an active bass). This could be different on a passive instrument. The feel of the status neck wins over wood for me, despite that only critique. I will probably resolve my problem with flatwound strings, once I've used my supply of Roundwounds. I will add, I recently got a fretless bass from Bravewood guitars. this had a epoxy coated rosewood board. I think that with frets might be quite interesting, as the neck is fantastic.
4. Thanks for the link, which only has the internal dimensions. But adding on a few inches, i reckon it would be too large.
5. stupid question, what is the external length of this bag. How big/long compared to a standard bass hiscox case. I may be interested, but size depending as many don't fit in my car boot.
6. very clever idea, they did sell this in a box, but had to stop as they couldn't get the box they use anymore.

SOLD!

If this was on bravewood's web site it would be sold in a few days. Every time I look, on the rare occasion, he has one for sale, it's sold within a few days.
9. Damn, I just brought a new one yesterday and will be looking for a second cab, but not for a month yet.
10.
What? You didn't go with TKS or Barefaced.... somethings not right in the world....
I would've preferred the price of the TKS, I couldn't try a barefaced so couldn't compare and I wanted the cab to start using that evening (and every night this week). I found the TKS a bit too flat in response for me. Perhaps once they were played in the bottom end would start to come through a little bit, the Agi (which was my last choice) sounded much warmer and suitable for the gigs I'd be using it on.
11. Many thanks to all who responded to this thread. I went to Bass Gear today and tried a few 1 x 12 cabs. The Berg CN112, TKS S112, Aguilar SL112, and something else which wasn't quite a 1 x 12. I ended up going for the Aguilar SL112, which sounded better for my use. All the other cabs were great, the Berg CN112 was a little disappointing compared to my CN212. I used it this evening for a show I'm doing which isn't loud and it sounded great. The Pianist (who's is also a bass player) thought it was the best I'd sounded. He had only heard me through his own Mark Bass amp and my make shift 1x12 PA bass bin and a different bass.
12.
Purple Chili 112
This won't quite fit in my boot, so out the equation for me
13.
I love my Vanderkley MNT112. Handles a lot of gigs on it's own. Really want to try out the TKS cabs though. Go check some stuff out, only you and your ears can decide.
I'm going to Bass gear Wednesday. Vanderkleys are too big to fit in my car. I must have one size no more than 15" 38cm
14.
Hmmm, another tks fan here. I don't have anything to add on that front! But, if you like your Berg I'd recommend trying the 112 version of that. You anywhere near Reading?!
I'm in Enfield, North London, about an hours drive to reading (on a good traffic day)
15.
I'd offer up a Berg AE112 and CN112.. really like them Aguilar SL is a great cab but I've tried all the above and I've just ordered 2 TKS S112's
Thats interesting. As you've tried them all. I'd never heard of TKS until I started this thread. Looks like The TKS cabs are the ones to consider at the moment from the comments here. At the moment it's the TKS or probably the Berg CN112.
16. I'm after a lightweight 1 x 12 cab. I already have a bergantino 2x12 but could do with a smaller cab for some gigs. What would you recommend. I have looked at the Barefaced cabs (not in person) they do seem more expensive compared to many other similar cabs. I did start to look at the lightweight cab thread, but its 15 pages long and has more than just 1x12 cabs. Edit, extra info:- I don't need huge amounts of volume as I've got the 2x12 for that, I'd still like it to kick out a bit. I'm not a slapper and play finger style, so prefer a warmer sound, having said that, I do like that the berg (with a GB shuttle 9.2 head) gives out what I put in.
17.
Without wanting to self-promote too much, I wrote a series of books on reading music which have been very popular. You can check them out here: https://www.bassline...essentials.html Stuart
I don't know your level of reading, If you're just getting into reading I would also suggest Stuart Clayton's books.
18. The difficult part to me seems to be crossing strings downwards. Using down up down up etc. I don't know the track you mention, I was just playing a scale to try it out.
19.
That debate is a whole other discussion...
I actually messaged Carol Kaye via her Facebook page about an Elvis track she claims to have played on (Suspicious Minds). After I mentioned that copies of the session sheet show Tommy Cogbill and Mike Leech as the bass players for the session in Memphis (She is based in LA) how did she come to play bass on the track? She blocked me. I must have hit a nerve or something.
20. Nice work, great sound and playing, however Is that Jameson or Carol Kaye you've analysed though?
