2.
You'll find that you need the two cabs to get the full 300w, though. With one you're only pulling only around 150w, but thankfully the Ashdown cabs are quite cheap. You can usually pick either a 1x15 or 2x10 deep for around £150 a go. Best of luck with it and happy shopping
Would something like a hartke 4x10 be a better investment then?
 3. I started by just going cold turkey and dropping using a pick entirely, until I'd gotten the hang of fingerstyle. Now I can swap back and forth quite happily although I still need more practice
 4.
Hi Sarah, The MAG Evo-II head is a fine piece of equipment. I had one a couple of years ago as a backup & also ran one of the 300w combos for a while as well. They work brilliantly with two cabs. More power than you'll need, really. Your Dean Pro is active, isn't it? Rich.
Tis indeedy. Well... active preamp but not pickups I believe.
 5. Ok people.... next lot of opinions please... decided to get a new head first and then look at cabs after... otherwise there's too much choice Looking at this and have heard good things about it... opinions? 6. I was in exactly your boat until recently. In January I started lessons and love it! About to sign up to do my RGT grade 4 exam this summer too! Great for giving you extra motivation and reasons to play Also helps with the improv.
 7. What watt is it? If you were nearer I'd be biting your hand off. lol
 8. Is there anything that's NOT made in china anymore? lol
 9.
Get a room....LOL Craig
 10. Ok.. I'm being an eejit and thought you meant learning the songs.. feel free to ignore me
 11. I'm of the 'working it out by ear' variety. Nothing wrong with using books, and I do occasionally, but I find it's better to try and work it out myself and get a feel for it, only looking at a book if I'm really stuck.
 12.
Tim Commerford is probably my all-time greatest influence. Awesome riffage.
That's the one
 13. I've got EMG-HZ's in my dean and love them Good all round sound and I play in a hard rock/metal band
 14.
That's OK. You carry snare drum, cymbal bag or guitars and they get to give themselves a hernia with your cab. If anyone says it's unfair, just tell them it's making up for the agony of childbirth.
Ah true but as with all men.. they'll turn around and say they've had number 2's more painful than childbirth
 15. That fella from Audioslave. Was listening to them this morning and had forgotten how meaty his bass sounds.
 16.
I've always liked Peavey. Reliable and does what it says on the tin.
What... it peaves? I'll get me coat.
 17.
That's what bandmates and besotted fans are for.
Ah but I'm not one of these sissy women see, who get blokes to do all their work... I like to get my hands dirty and pull my weight.
 18. Hmmm.. going to have to have a think about the weight issue really. I'm a reet skinny minny as it is and my current laney is already a backbreaker, although that's a combo.
 19. Shame, gorgeous cab that but over my budget sadly. Hope you find a buyer for it.
 20.
Get the RPM1 preamp in for sale section and a power amp. Ultimate Ashdown rig. I'd have got it, but that much chrome is Not Doom.
How is chrome not doom
 21.
It should still fit if you put it a diagonal angle. Or just buy a gig bag,it makes life easier.
I like my bass case though... I have 2 kids aged 3 and 5 and like to be reassured that it's safe in there LOL
 22.
I would definitely avoid Behringer.
lol funily enough I've got that impression now! This is why I love you guys...
 23. Can see me ending up going for either an Ashdown evo or a superfly to be fair... hmmmm.
