1.
I can recall seeing "Obanez" guitars listed in the old free-ad papers, so I guess people do struggle to read this logo.
Or just can't type, i can see how all interpretations have arrived though.
2.
Crazy money for a guitar like that - especially with that finish. Looks like it's not aging too well. Serious crazing on the rear of the headstocks. Also signs of abuse. The notion that the signature makes it infinitely collectable is nonsense. Maybe worth a little more, or a fair bit to a fan, but that price is just silly. I would consider it overpriced at 1/10th of that cost. But then I'm not the market.
It's an aged version. The 25 are exact copies and 250 tributes (non aged) were also made. However FWICR they weren't made until 2007 so it's interesting that this one has been in storage since 2004.
3. Found enough old cardboard boxes to be able to cover this (just to protect from serious scuffing and damage). So now available to be couriered. £40 delivered or £35 collected.
4. Blimey apparently the prices have risen since i last looked, significantly!
5. Mid 50s strats go for about 20 grand so yeah slightly overpriced for a volume knob all things considered.
6. Two questions are which bart's are in it? and what preamp is it? Then the biggest question is how does it play. IME a jazz either just feels right or there's something not quite right as i'm sure you know. I'd definitely try and get a bit more cash coming your way.
7. Ibanez JEM2KDNA's have Steve Vai's blood mixed in with the red paint.
8. I'm sure someone will come along with a better answer however, the micro power is 9V at 1000mA and the Powestation 9V at 3000mA. So you need to work out what current you'll be drawing and then assess.
9. NSP (theflightcasecompany.com) GB01 Guitar Effect Pedal Board - small size Internal dimensions 48cm x 34cm x 9cm. Good condition, ply board inside shows some signs of use (from velcro being pulled off and replaced). Collection prefered from Manchester but willing to courier if i can find something to pack it in at buyers expense. Link to further details below: http://www.theflightcasecompany.com/gb01-guitar-effect-pedal-board-flight-case/
10. T-Rex Juicy Lucy Power Supply. Five 12V isolated outputs at 300mA per output, so it's possible to daisychain multiple pedals of one output. I've been using this to supply 9V pedals and had no issues, however it's always best to check with manufacturer first. Its in good condition but by no means perfect. Comes with 5 cables of varying length and kettle lead. £35.00 posted
11.
For a start, the guitarist doesn't play in standard tuning, he says he's tuned to B flat or A or some other. I spent a week trying to learn a track without realizing this! Now I think i should try to tune down so i can play these fast riffs easier. I'm not sure the bass is playable tuned the same way as the guitars. I'm interested to hear from other Djenty style bass players and how they cope with down tuned guitars and whatnot. Help needed folks......
It's hard to know what he means if he says he tuned to A or Bb, could easily be A standard. However it depends how much of a TesseracT fan he is, Acle mainly plays in DADGAD but tuned to Bb (Bb F Bb Eb F Bb Eb) with occasional Ab drops. I agree with Chris and Robs comments above drop tuning isn't necessary on bass at least (i can sort of see the point on guitar) so i'd prob go either A or Bb standard so you can match the bottom string. Depending on how much attack you like i'd consider a .145 to keep things nice and tight. Again agree with Dannybuoy and Sifi "darkglass" are great for that sort of tone (but not the only option), just remember not to overdo the drive. I see too many "Djent" bass players with a heavey driven/distorted sound and it just ends up being lost with the guitars. Clarity is king IMO.
12. In great condition. Home use only. Includes box and manual etc. £85 posted. Will post photos when I can but its pretty my much brand new.
13. That body is definitely a squier VM Jaugar, neck could be genuine but then again i think the logos wrong so probably not. We always jump to the conclusion with things like this that someone is trying to make a quick quid, but he may have been no so savvy and been sold this as a Japanese Jaguar. Then again my Mrs does always tell me not to be so trusting of people.
14. I think the most enjoyable festival is one where you don't have the whole time filled with bands you "must go and see" and discover some new bands. Did YNot last year only wanting to see 3 people and enjoyed it so much we are going back this year (helps that its less than £100 for three day camping). Some great bands on the unsigned stage and some of the best festival food i've ever had. Good ale and cider selection too. Not that i would be saying all this to try and sell the spare tickets i have in the "sell anything" section at all
15. Yeah all three of those were there, along with something with a curved neck bolt line. Can't think of anything else it could have been, either that or my eyes were playing tricks on me. Edit: headstock looks about right if I can remember rightly also
16. I'm sure this must be what I saw daflewis playing at wicked at Apollo London recently. Only saw the back and was confused by the neck bolt arrangement. Look like very nice instruments, deffinately out of my reach tho.
17.
I wish people would realise that staggering the ferrules does not change scale length. This is determined only by the distance between the bridge saddle and nut. The actual achievement is lowering the angle between the saddle and ferrule minimising the stress on the winding of the string making it less likely to break.
Apologies my wording could have been better, of course i didn't mean scale length. There you go your wish has come true!
18. Bargain of the year. Someone buy this before I do and get bo****ked by the Mrs.
