  1. we have played quite a few places with limiters.normally you can get around them by using plug sockets from a different room.but they are a massive pain in the arse
  2. the ones ive had to do this week have been made of stone(stone roses) and Australia(manic street preachers) for tonights set.and 99ways to die(megadeth) just because its a cool tune
  3. I went to see megadeth in Newcastle last night.the gig as a whole was really good but daves vocals were ropey as usual but the stand out of the night was dave ellefson .what a bass player
  4. +1 for the streamliner
  5. we dont do mad fridays got to much invested in our set up.and cba dealing with all the piss heads that only go out once or twice a year
  6. if your not happy with it just send it back and ask for a replacement
  7. cheers mate.the cheeky git also asked if i would swap my streamliner and focus cabs for his rig....erm no chance was the reply
  8. i was talking to another bass player last night at our gig and he asked me a question that i didn't know the answer to so i thought id ask on here he has a peavey max450 head 1 4ohm cab and 2 8ohm cabs.if he was to put the 4ohm cab into one speaker jack and then daisey chain the 2 8ohm cabs from the other would the amp see a 2ohm load or less.just to be on the safe side i told him not to do it rob
  9. yes the volume knob does work buti had to almost turn the volume off to got the signal low enough for the pa.then it was to weak for the powered monitor i was using
  10. tonight i ran it straight into our mixer and found that even with the -db button pressed the signal was still way too hot for the desk.so ive orderd a -20db attenuator to see if that helps
  11. you could try upping your mids
  12. after the gig just point at a random woman and tell them she says you two must be reall small in the trouser department if you feel you need to use full stacks.
  13. now ive spent a bit more time with it im a bit happier.im using it in play mode with pedals 1-4 Aguilar chorus flange sansamp not to fussed with any other effects really
  14. well got mine this morning and erm not to sure i will ever use it live.saying that i will use it if my streamliner ever goes down just plug it right into the desk.lots and lots of effects i'll never ever use.kids are home now so i will have another go with it on sunday
  15. should have mine on tuesday.downloaded the instructions and it looks complicated.but then again i am betamax man when it comes to technology
  16. thats my xmas sorted
  17. no not really.because ive gone with a streamliner and 2 2x10 cabs stacked verticaly i get really defensive when our singer gets women up onto the stage.it might not be the most expensive rig but its mine and i worked hard to pay for it so i dont want it knocked over by some drunken bint that wont give two shits if it gets damaged
  18. keeping an eye on this topic.ive thought about valve swapping in my streamliner but i was waiting for someone else to do it first
  19. half way through tonights gig i almost came to blows with some bints boyfriend because i dared to tell her to get down off one of our bass bins.even though i tried explaining that they were over a grand each and that they wernt ment to be stood on.as they were busy calling me asshole ect she spilled her drink all over the bin she had been standing on.so how do you deal with pissed up punters?
  20. we have the same problem but its our guitarists that sneak the volume lelevs up during the gig.because our drummer uses an electronic kit he has stored the drum tracks for a few songs so that he can go out front and set the pa. so at the start of the first set alls good then you start to get louder and louder guitars and by the end of it its sounds like we are standing in a music shop.but you cant get it through to them . +1 to charics post
  21. the god that failed metallica unforgivable sinner lene marlin practice what you preach testament take no prisoners megadeth destroying the manger nocturnus cambodia kim wilde i am not a robot marina and the diamonds independant love song scarlet skeletons of society slayer silent lucidity queensryche not a good set list but covers all bases
  22. kids came in so stopped
  23. i find with my streamliner i roll off the bass to about 10 o'clock
  24. the whole band dropped the tuning brought on by the fact that our singer wanted us to do some covers which were to high for him.so we decided to drop the lot
  25. that drummers awsome
