1. my black sparkle lakland DJ has a black cherry tort plate , love it
 2. so the coloured ones are different to mine then , mine came with the warwick folder containing handbook ,tools and warwick wax polish plus duster with instructions to wax every few weeks over the oiled finish . yours should look ok as a roadworn model .
 3. hi i have a oiled corvette too , and yes it does look like someone has put a lacquer on it . looks like it reacted with the oil hence the peeling . i would try and remove the lacquer as it would only be surface depth ,and re oil it . i use the warwick wax on mine to keep the finish good .
 4.
They stop the head of the tuner float. I replace them with m4 fibre washers that cost a quid for a hundred. It only takes two washers per tuner.
cheers for that ,will do for me sorted . knew there was a way out
 5. hi guys any warwick owners had the white nylon washer on the machine heads split ,over the past couple of years i have had three go . had to buy a new machine head each time . i know they are cheap but it seems a waste for a o ring. anyone else had this are they needed or is it just cosmetic ?

 8.
Yeah, you even get a text when your package is shipped.
yep when i get back me order is going in they just mailed me regarding a hardcase for the lakland with their recomendation , thanks to everyone for the replies
 9.
I've had no problems with them but I've not used them in ages. Prices aren't as good as I remember though, probably as much the fault of the ailing pound as much as anything.
yes the euro and dollar are strong against the pound at the mo ,but saying that i can get my lakland with the rosewood fingerboard cheaper than uk as i can get the vat off at source because we are outside eu ,which for the gallery would have been a pain having to hand the form to customs on leaving uk , a bit hit and miss in the past ,they do not seem to want to send stuff either also the risk of loss on the plane , the airline managed to lose my wifes suitcase last year .they found out it was left behind . so i would prefer having it sent by courier insured in a hardcase like my others
 10. hi anyone bought from thomann seem very efficient from their website ,they respond to questions quickly

 14.
Believe it or not, I will be within 40 miles of London this weekend - assuming we don't get snowed in tonight.
hi staying at the strand palace ,the strand.
 15.
I've got two DJ4s, one rosewood and one maple and there naff all difference really to cloth-eared idiots like me and 95% of bassists. I have Aero pups on the one and Chi-Sonics on the other and they are both fabulous. I have the rosewood/Aeros one with flats on it and the Maple/Chi one is my main gigging bass with Elixirs. Do like the man say and buy Alan's - you'll have people creaming over it for years. I want another one to modify but I'm just not ready yet. Also, Laklands are so consistent that you can buy unseen with confidence, no problem.
would he send it to jersey
 16.
Don't be going there, buy Alan's from the for sale section on here, superb bass. I had a rosewood board one in LP blue, Alan's is black/maple. Both of them had Aero's and I couldn't hear the difference. However, it is true that some rosewood boarded bass are darker sounding generally, and maple is brighter.
tempted but a bit far for me to go, only over for a long weekend with the wife . a very small window for bass buying ,like the black pickguard looks ace ,have one on my strat which is also black .so it seems the maple is ok no issues.
 17. going to the bass gallery next monday alex says they have a DJ with a maple board black body ,was gioing for a rosewood but he does not have one . is there any reason for not getting the maple.my other basses are rosewood including my two guitars ,so i do not know what they are like wearwise or playing . any advice would be welcome . ps will be in london from friday .
 18. have watched this develope and i am very impressed with the comradeship on this forum in a crisis ,and a fantastic result by all involved . well done all . puts faith back in human nature .
 19.
No matter what bass I receive into the collection, my Skyline JO4 is the benchmark it's measured against. Fantastic bass.
hi do you rate the jo against the dj as i am going to try both
 20.
any chance of a picture or two? will this fit any warwick bass? how much we looking to get it here to glasgow? Allen
i have two of these rock solid ,last two basses sent in these to jersey no problem . weighty but solid.
 21.
Just a quick hello really. Like many others, gleaned loads of info in the past but hadn't joined so I thought I'd rectify that. Brit, now living in France and probably one of your oldest members at 56. Been playing bass for about 18 years. Moved here 5 years ago and ended up on drums as no bass opportunities at the time. Got fed up being the first to arrive and last to leave gigs and changed to guitar. Missed playing bass so came back into the fold this year. Was using an Eden WT500 and Eden 4x10 but with my back!! Just got a Markbass 3x10 combo. It's no Eden but a sensible move for the aged and is loud enough for what I do now. Main basses are Fender Custom shop jazz 4 string with Sadowsky pick-ups and a Fender Roscoe Beck 5 string Only outboard equipment is an old DOD guitar compressor and an Aphex bass exciter. Into Jazz, Funk, some Rock. Heavily into Larry Carlton, Rippingtons, Caseopea and Bela & the Flecktones. Looking for an F bass BN5 or 6 since I tried one this year so if anyone's got one going cheap (joke) Thanks
welcome 58 here, nice to have another oldie on the team .was a drummer myself in my teens but have got sensible now
 22.
Wait a second! STOP PRESS! There WAS a jumper wire on the old switch! Didn't notice it at all, it is very small and tidy. I will stick that on and see if it sorts it out! Cheers ped
did a similar thing with my tele build ,took several looks to see my mistake ,could only get either pup but not the two .better to check first
 23.
agree with what you say,but it seems only ashdown gets slagged off on here when theres a lot of gear which is more unrealiable and not as good,(no names mentioned!)wasnt me who threw the teddy was it?
no it was another have a nice day asked if i knew what a fan was
 24.
im also a peavey and fender owner but i wouldnt stick up for either of them!
i still like my five fifteen , but its like cars if you get some bad ones it does put you off a bit . warwicks get some stick here sometimes ,but i do not throw the teddy out the pram because of it . as one mans meat is anothers poison , thats why these companies survive . would love this new amp to be a winner but the price seems a little bit on the high side ,will have to see what happens when it arrives .
