Basschat Hive Mind... A long shot but does anyone have any ideas about the wiring for this Ricky neck pickup, which wire might be the ground or the hot? Its a rewind of a old, completely dead pickup and the people who did it are not replying at the moment and I'd like to get it fitted to my waiting 4003.. Thanks in advance

Replacement bridge for the old style 4001/4003 Bridge.... Fits snugly into the stock bridge and just makes life a lot easier to intonate, adjust action, etc, etc.... It was fitted to one of my Ricks until i changed my mind and replaced the whole thing with a Hipshot. Its never been gigged or rehearsed and has been sat in its box gathering dust for months. On searching for them it seems only Thomann stock them at £164 Price inc P&P

A question for the Basschat experts My 2009 4003 Jetglo right out of the blue developed a fault, the bridge pickup sounded thin, i mean real THIN, no sound of it at all when you switch to neck/bridge. Also the vintage push/pull made no real difference. After a trip to a guitar tech Im told the bridge pickup is faulty and needs either rewinding or replacing. A new pick up was fitted (a Retrovibe 12k high gain) and the same issue is pretty much still there, however now i seem to have some bonus problems... The bridge is still way too low and muffled, the treble tone pot may well as not exist the same as the push/pull, there's no noticeable difference in tone... The treble volume, when on full makes everything sound thin again, a few notches back and it seems to get added bass. Turn the bass volume back a few notches and i get another change in sound, its seems to take some bass out..!! Im at a loss, new pots needed? a new cap? or a whole new harness? It appears to be a simple change out of old pickup for new.... bad soldering on my part?

I saw their ad on Join My Band and i'm well inside their catchment area and did think about messaging them.... The band webpage seems to show them a bass player AND a guitarist light... After reading the above i dont think ill take it any further..... -

No gig this weekend as the venue cancelled at the last minute due to the death of the Queen.. And NOT because they had not arranged a sound engineer, replaced the promoter who usually dealt with gigs, pushed tickets sales, arranged for anyone to staff the door or were unwilling to speak to the band in the week leading up to the gig to explain this. Or didn't think anyone would turn up to the gig so it would just be a waste of their time..... Absolutely not because of any of the above... At all....

I've had this pedal from new for a few months now and sounds superb, however, having been a Sansamp user for years and years now I think that particular sound is the one I will always prefer. Built like a tank and only ever lived on my pedalboard its in perfect condition (has 3M tape which can be removed if needed) and comes with its box plus manual. Trades wise, I'm after a Sansamp programmable driver/DI. Price includes P&P

I think you're right.... We've done gigs this year on a Friday and they have been packed out events, played Saturdays to almost empty venues...

Last nights gig.... A 2 hour drive to a cracking looking venue right in the middle of town, parked right outside so load in and out was a breeze... Sound was good, we played well... The crowd consisted of around 10 people, the majority of which had no real interest in us and or music. The owner did apologise for the lack of numbers though. A 2 hour hour uneventful drive home from what was basically a paid rehearsal.

I think its a limited service due to another strike that's been ongoing for months. Ive used the Central Line while these strikes have been on and there hasn't really been any problems. The biggest issue will be getting out of the stadium and onto the tube.... its a nightmare..

A very decent Friday night crowd at a East End venue, lots of voices joining in with the songs and a general good time being had by all. At one point from the stage I saw through the window what I thought was punch up outside. It was infact people dancing and pogoing in the street..!!! Never had that before…

Ahhhhh Shades, one of my favourite records shops. If my memory is correct I remember it starting out as the black painted shed. It then moved about ten foot further up St Ann’s Court to a proper basement shop….
