  1. PM sent. Again.....
  2. Up for sale is my wonderful Atelier Z Beta 4 taken in a trade on here but as I’m not gigging I don’t consider myself worthy of keeping it. I’ll stick with something cheaper for now. It is in fantastic condition with one nick on the headstock. It comes with a heavily padded Atelier gig bag which unfortunately has a bust zip. Atelier basses are boutique basses, made in small numbers in Japan and they reputedly challenge Sadowsky basses. It’s a wonderful bass and it urges you to keep playing it - it’s just one of those basses. The 24 fret maple neck is satin finished and is so smooth. It features block inlays with Luminlay side dots, stainless steel frets and Gotoh tuners. The Ash body is scaled down with an extended cutaway allowing access to no man’s land. It’s really light at around 3.6kg. The controls are Volume, Volume, Tone with a series/parallel switch to fatten up the sound when required. It has the latest Atelier Z pickups with staggered pole pieces and has a custom Atelier buffer preamp on board to prevent unwanted noise. It’s also been upgraded with a 3 way adjustable Hipshot kickass bridge - a brilliant bridge which I prefer over badass bridges these days. No trades on this unless there’s a cheap P bass out there somewhere. Based in Chester but can meet up or deliver within 50 miles. I’ll also ship it anywhere insured with UPS. Thanks for looking.

  3. Oh yeah. Sorry. I removed them when i agreed a trade and relisted it but forgot I took the pics off. Pics will be back on shortly.
  4. You’re right - it’s a beauty but I just don’t get on with soap bar / humbucker pickups.
  5. SOLD WAY TOO CHEAP BUT THATS LIFE. Dropped to £495 for a hand crafted bass. Less than a Mex Fender. I can’t believe it hasn’t been taken. It has a lightweight natural alder body with a cedar cap, 24 fret maple neck with cedar inlays, twin custom wound soap bar pickups, a 2 band Bartolini preamp configured push / pull volume with active bypass, blend, bass and treble. It has black hardware and features recessed control knobs. It weighs a very lightweight 3.6kg, the neck is 38mm width at the nut, 54mm width at fret 12 and 63mm at 24. It’s quite shallow at 22mm at the 1st and 25mm at the 12th fret. It has a silky smooth, very playable maple neck and looks really unusual with its cedar inlays. It also benefits from a recent full set up including fret level, crown and polish, relief, action and intonation set up and new rotosound strings on. It play and sounds superb and also looks the part as it’s a pretty unique bass. I’ll ship it anywhere insured with UPS. Uk should be around £28. Europe should be around £40. Can also deliver or meet up within 50 miles of Chester. . Trades possible......
  6. Trades added. Will trade either way - cash my way or your way......all depends what’s out there.
  7. Back up for sale as trade fell through is my immaculate Chowny fretless. Dropped to £595 including delivery. Will trade or part trade up or down for anything with frets - preferably P or J. Also would consider trading for an all valve head. Up for sale or trade is this immaculate unmarked custom ordered Chowny SWB Pro short scale unlined fretless. Finished in a spectacular purple burst over a quilt maple top, it has EMG pickups with 2 band EMG preamp, a rather nice ebony fretboard, Wilkinson tuners and a fitted gator foam case. It’s unmarked and immaculate, obviously plays great (and it has no fret buzz coz it’s got none)! I took it in a trade on here but it’s just not up my street really. I always like the thought of a fretless but then realise they’re just not my thing. It’s a doddle to play though as it’s short scale and the position markers on the neck edge are on the fret rather than in between so again that makes it easy to hit accurate notes. This model retails at £850 but in this colour is currently on a 8-10 week backlog. Vital stats are; 38.5mm at the nut and 4.2kg on the scales. Will ship insured with UPS anywhere. Can deliver or meet up within 60 miles of Chester. Thanks for looking. Heres some blurb. Developed by Scott Whitley a professional gigging bassist (Big Country and formerly The Animals) the SWB Bass Range is designed to be a professional gigging bassists short scale bass. Traditionally ‘short scale bass’ has largely been associated with student basses and limited, muddy tones – not any more! The SWB Pro professional, modern-sounding short scale bass affordable to everyone. The SWB range are incredibly flexible basses to suit any style of playing – from growly traditional through to scooped, hi-fi slap tones and everything in between. Now the SWB Pro takes this to the next level with boutique finishes and a number of significant upgrades. With a matched EMG Jazz Pickup pair and EMG Pre-Amp as standard, this bass features a 5 piece satin walnut and maple neck, wilkinson tuners and ebony fretboard. 8. Battery powered partially illuminated metal butterflies on a burned bass. Just what I put on my Christmas list.
  9. I just thought I’d add that the reason for the connector blocks and grey wires is because on my first attempt I got no output so I thought I’d isolate the pickup grounds and try earthing them to a few different places - copper shield, base of pots etc. However it had no effect and I still ended up with nothing! Hence the cry for help.....
  10. Thanks so much for the offer. I’ve took all the bits out now and shipped them off already to a very kind & very handy fellow basschatter who’s taking a look for me. Thanks though.
  11. I was just about to bin these and just wondered if anybody wanted them - for free..... I’ll even cover the postage......
  12. I added the terminal blocks to group the earths rather than soldering multiple wires to the base of pots but that’s probably where I’ve gone wrong....
  13. I’ve decided on neck volume with push / pull active / passive, bridge volume, bass and treble. Should be easy but I’m stupid.
  14. I’m ashamed of what I’ve done but will drop a photo or two...... It’ll be messy...
  15. Yep. I’m useless. I follow the diagram and am sure I’ve followed the instructions correctly and yet I get nothing.......a big fat nothing.
  16. I picked up a really nice custom luthier made bass on here a couple of months ago with twin soap bar humbuckers but with passive controls. In my wisdom I decided to make it active to open up the possibilities of those humbuckers, so I bought a Bartonlini 2 band preamp (which has loads of support tech help and diagrams on line) yet I still can’t get it right despite many attempts so I’m making a cry for help from anyone in the Chester ish area who is adept in the ways of wiring in a preamp....... I think my issue is not getting how to earth things properly but o think it’s time to hand it over to an expert in these matters.....
  17. Price Drop to £550. Trades possible. Try me!! Up for sale is my heavily upgraded Made in Mexico 2003 Fender Mike Dirnt Precision Bass. It’s got a wonderful Wizard Thumper hand would British made pickup, a high mass black kickass bridge, upgraded Gotoh tuners, a black control plate, black knobs, new graphtech nut, black pickguard screws and a black pick guard. The upgraded parts cost £250+. It’s also got a vintage style case albeit with one catch missing but still a really good case. Condition wise, it has had one or two paint chips on the edge which have been filled with nitro black paint so unless you’re looking hard they’re not visible. The body is generally pretty good. The neck has no marks on it and the bass is set up nicely and plays very well. It weighs 4.3kg and the nut width is 40.5mm. I’ve got some schaller strap locks / buttons so will put those on. It’s had a full set up with fret level, crown, polish, lemon oil fretboard treatment, neck relief, intonation and action set up and sports new rotosound round wound strings. It plays well with its upgrades and sounds immense. Based near Chester but can deliver or meet up within 50 miles or will deliver anywhere insured via UPS. Thanks for looking
