Can you buy them anywhere yet? I bought the Tri-Mod Wah last week and initial impressions are very good but there does seem to be a real drop in volume when you engage the pedal. Fretmeister recently bought my Subdecay Prometheus pedal, great comms and quick payment too. Would highly recommend to others.

Yeah I'll go with that too - there is so much crap in the charts that it drives you mad! PT is a great bass player and yep I would take his job in a flash!! I think that most of us are just disappointed that after waiting for so long what we are hearing is not all that great. Having said that I did see them at Hyde Park this summer and they were fantastic. Maybe the rest of the album will be better and thinking about it they have done a couple of ok tracks in recent years thinking of Little L and You Give Me Something. Ah yes but that is classed as constructive help - how any times have you seen that someone owns something that you are interested in purchasing and you can then ask them what it is like etc. If we didn't list our gear then no-one would know who owns what. If Basschater's started putting their cars and houses in their sig's then I would start getting really worried!! Yes but the shame is that he can't even do the stuff that he did before anymore either!! Where has the funk of EOPE and ROSC albums gone? Very disappointed as they had said that they would be going back to their roots for this album now that they were free of the corporate chains of Sony. Nothing wrong with p/ups in my opinion but just wondered if I was missing a trick by not looking at more modern options? I have just changed my rig and used it last night for the first time and thought that the jazz sounded great through it!! However I can see the logic that 36 years ago the pickups were just bulk standard issue and never really meant to be anything special - if you take the comparison to cars for example no-one would get excited about the engine put into a 1974 Austin Allegro if you know what I mean! Hi Andy, Yeah I didn't know either until Bernie mentioned it to me too! As you may know Bernie used to be the UK importer for KSD basses and he felt that the tone was lacking so used to put the EBS pre-amp into all of his basses. I imported mine direct from the states before I knew him which is why my 4 string was done afterwards. The pre-amp offered a really top end "zing" and a nice bass boost too. I think off the top of my head it cost about £200 ish for the pre-amp and fitting. I got rid off the 4 basses that I had to pay for my GB Rumour and the 4 string was one of these, whilst Bernie was building my GB I needed a bass so bought a 5 string KSD from him too. In the end I got rid of that because I never quite clicked with a 5 string and also once I got the Rumour nothing else got a look in. Yes that is my Rumour in the pic - cracking walnut on her!! Going through a bit of a dilemma as to whether to change the pick ups in my 74 jazz bass or not. I have been given some advice that the stock p/ups were never that special and that by changing them for more modern ones will really let the bass sing. Any opinions or advice would be gratefully received particularly by those that have gone down this route already. If you have changed them what did you go for and why? Does changing the pickups de-value the bass at all? Cheers

I would go for the EBS preamp. I used to have a Proto-J both a 4 string and 5 string version and Bernie Goodfellow fitted an EBS preamp into both and it made a huge difference to the sound. I don't think that the stock p/ups in them are much cop TBH. That is the best pedalboard that I have seen yet - brilliant!! How do you attach the pedals to it? What are your thoughts on the Groove Regulator? Really thinking of getting one but not yet convinced it offers anything more than the MXR M82 or other filters that I have already! Thanks for that - can't think about buying another head as I have only just got this one! I just think it might have been a nice feature to be able to switch it on and off if you were playing a slap section in a tune for example. I have found so far that all EQ flat and both filters around 9 to 10 o'clock sounds fantastic but that is only at home - will see what happens when I gig it the first time this coming weekend. JUst reading the posts here and in particular the one from Russ (EBS Freak) and I would advise that if you can you should have both basses as they are such different beasts but both great at what they do. I love my Rumour to bits but if you want the old school jazz vibe then you just have to have an old passive Fender Jazz end of! The GB's can get an amazing array of sounds as Russ says but it will never be a passive jazz bass. I think every bass player should have a GB in their arsenal but I am not sure if I agree that you should expect one bass to do everything for you. In the end it will come down to an array of factors that will make your decision, cost, looks, sound and mojo!! Thanks guys, some really good advice there - looks like Mark Bass might have missed a trick by not making the VPF a footswitchable option? Will see how I fare at gigs using it sparingly.

Hey man, Thanks for the advice - yes great amps perfect sound and light as a feather too! It almost feels as though you wish you could boost the VPF just for slap bass type sounds and then turn off again which is why I asked about a footswitch.
