Low offer received and refused - so still for sale.
Putting up my EBS Bass IQ pedal for sale to fund some other purchases! I have had this from new and still have the original box and instructions and the pedal has been on my board so is in great condition. Obviously has velcro on the underside. Happy to post pics if you need them but I am sure everyone knows what they look like and what they do - it is a very funky little filter. Going rate for these seems to be £85 so happy with that plus the postage.
-

Like I said before listen to our tracks and make your own mind up - if you honestly can say that after hearing him play then you will be the first and only person of that opinion! I think you need to open your eyes and ears and not make such broad sweeping generalisations.
Bet he's sh*t then and doesnt know any popular song!!!!
Yeah the Mu-Tron re-issue is made by Haz Labs and is called the Mu-tron III +
Well it looked like a Mutron III. It could have been the "unauthorised reissue", the Mutron III+ mentioned here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutron http://www.mu-tron.com/ I guess it's a replica.
If anyone wants to listen to our keys player (Leeds College of Music grad) playing on any of our tracks and say that he is sh*te then I would be surprised! He is only 22 and the best keys player I have ever worked with. Check him out on www.myspace.com/zangtangband I think that the condemnation of all LCM grads is unjustified and unfounded.
Erm... I know a ton of very good Leeds graduates, so what do you suggest I say here? Reign it in mate, it's quite wrong to condemn the entire place on the basis of a little bit of experience.
Ha ha - our keys player is a Leeds graduate!!
Howdy This last month, ive become aquainted with a very busy and well established, corporate, wedding Northern based function band! The band leader plays the kit, he is nice and solid and got some chops. THe vocalists are great (male and female) but he uses a lot of deps (me now included) The band leader produces full charts for every member of the band(its that organised) But..... The last 3 gigs I have done have contained various guitar/keys players (graduates from leeds uni ) Sorry to say, they are all f***ing awfull!!! some punk keys waller from leeds uni, 4 years into his degree gets lost soloing over "mustang sally" !!!! guitar player "4 years at leeds" has the contempt to not even listen to "celebration by cool and the gang", shows up and cant read the charts, or even remotely play the tune. w***er Leeds coolege of music You are a f***ing discrace, your graduates are a discrace anyone who has a degee from leeds, please burn it!!! Any aspiring musicians out there, Dont go to leeds. Get a well paid job, some occasional lessons from a good guy on basschat, learn loads of tunes, and keep busy Regards Mark
Quick update - decided against the ARP Mu-Tron as over on TB a lot of people were saying that they just don't sound the same or as good as the Musitronics models. In the end that one went for more than an original that was going on Ebay in the USA!! I opted to buy the Musitronics version and there is a guy called Richard Lingenberg that everyone raves about on TB who used to work at Musitronics or mods the pedal by making it True Bypass and adding an on/off LED light and re-calibrating it too. So I have had it shipped directly to him and he will then send it back to me once the mod is done. It has already has a 9v power supply mod done to it already so that side is taken care of. Just hope that it is everything that it has been built up to be here and on TB!! Mind you the new Sounblox Bass Envelope Filter sounds pretty tasty!
Not sure about the date issue, but for TBP mods and getting it to work on a single 9v power input, send it to Dan at The GigRig. He put 2 virtual batteries in and wired it up so it took just a standard 9v Boss jack so it can be daisy chained! I never bothered with getting mine TB'd I just use a loop! Cheers
Rick bought my Pedaltrain hard case recently - really fast payment and a damn nice bloke to deal with to boot. Highly recommended to all fellows BC'ers.

Thanks for the PM and the post. After watching this I have sent the Tri-Mod Wah back and am definitely going to go for the BEF!! One thing puzzled me though there is no mention of the Mu-Tron III or trying to emulate that filter - why not? Surely that is what everyone would want? I have also just pulled the trigger on a vintage Musitronics Mu-Tron III so I think between the two pedals I should have every sound that I need/want covered.
I got your PM earlier today about this...It could be the effect type that you are using since the pedal was not designed SPECIFICALLY for the bass. This video details a few ways to use the Soundblox Tri-Mod Wah with the bass. Hopefully it helps you and anyone else who may be having similar difficulties.
Anybody NOT going to Level42 tonight...?
Gunsfreddy2003 replied to EBS_freak's topic in General Discussion
I was waiting for you to comment on that Russ!!
Oh jeez, didn't mean to open this can of worms... I was just merely commenting on the individual threads for every single performance of this tours. Level 42 don't particulalry move me that much but I do appreciate it for what it is. Bring back Boon! Oh, and despite what was said in the other thread, MK has never sounded better than he did with his Spitfires - despite going through Crashdown!
-
sh*t - sorry you are right!! I looked on the web quickly the other night and thought that the page that I saw showed the hard case only for that price. I will obviously need to adjust the price accordingly. Difference between the hard case and soft case option appears to be about £80 so I would be happy to £60 + P&P for the case. Thanks for pointing that out. Mark
Uhhh, brand new they come WITH the board so you can't really quote that as the price.
Recording bass onto my MacBook - what do I need to get started?
Gunsfreddy2003 replied to Gunsfreddy2003's topic in Recording
Hey Waldemar, Many thanks for taking the time to help me out - I am definitely going to go for the Line 6 GX as it sounds like it does a really good job. It was good to hear what kind of quality you can achieve on your demo track. Sounds like I am not the only one who hates to hear my basslines played alone!!! If it is any comfort I downloaded James Jamerson's bassline from What's Going On by Marvin Gaye and on it's own it sounded quite bad I mean almost amateurish but mix it with the track and it is one of the most divine basslines that I know! Thanks again.
Hiya Guns. I was asking a similar question not so long ago after trying to go into my Mac's line in/mic whilst using a Tascam Bass Trainer as a kinda pre-amp. I also tried via the DI on my ancient Laney 30 practice amp, but in both instances I was pretty disappointed. Someone recommended that I try out a Line6 GX (http://line6.com/podstudiogx/) which I did, and I'm pretty impressed. It works great with GB and the Pod Farm effects are available to apply via the GB interface at a later stage should you want to record your bass signal clean. Furthermore, you can pick 'em up new for around £70. Bargain. It's probably a long way off from pro-level, but as a 'sketch pad' it's great! Set-up time is next to nothing - just drop the audio file you want to jam over into GB, create a new real instrument track, fire-up Pod Farm, hit record on GB and start playing! I'm uploading a short audio clip of me playing over a track - at around 55 seconds I drop the levels of the master so that you can hear what the bass is up to more clearly (oh dear). As ever, double-check that your laptop/OS is compatible with the extra stuff you're buying - although if you're on something new then you should be alright. Hope this helps.
-
I have decided to move on the hard case for my Pedaltrain 2 pedalboard. It is in near perfect condition and just perfect for protecting the Pedaltrain 2 board with all your pedals on it. I have the original box for the it and happy to post anywhere. Brand new they are £189 (see link below). Looking for £140 + Postage. Recording bass onto my MacBook - what do I need to get started?
Gunsfreddy2003 replied to Gunsfreddy2003's topic in Recording
Thanks for your post - I have a Mark Bass Little Mark III so sure that I can take the DI from that - if not what kind of preamp do people use? Silly question but where is the line in on the MacBook is it the socket next to the headphones out?
some people say that for decent results you need a dedicated firewire/usb preamp but the soundcards on macbook and imacs are pretty good imo. I (and people that i've worked with) have gotten really good (well as good as di can get) results just using a preamp straight into the line in. if you have an amp that you like that has a di out then a di to jack cable would work (with a mini jack addapter) otherwise any preamp would do really.
-
I want to start recording basslines at home and also adding to tracks sent to me by my bandmates - I have Macbook with Garageband on it. Is the best program to use and if so what is the most cost effective/best sounding way to record digitally? I am new to all of this stuff and am not really sure where to start!

Aguilar Filter Twin - Anyone tried one yet?

Can't believe no-one has tried one yet! -
Anyone help with this?
OK so I have been looking for a vintage Musitronics Mu-Tron III for a while now and I have just seen one for sale but it is from the ARP years which was 1979 to 1980 just before they went bust. There is talk on the web that these do NOT sound the same as the Musitronics version and I wonder if anyone can confirm this? Would like some advice before I go and waste a load of money!! Can anyone also advice anyone in the UK who can mod these pedals to make them true bypass as I have also that they suck the life out of your tone when used live!
