1. No not a liar - I just don't agree with what you are saying! Getting back to the point of the thread I have also compared my LM3 against a HD350 and would say that they are very evenly matched when running at 4 ohms however run them at 8 and I would agree that for some reason the LM3 seems a lot louder which is weird!!
Calling me a liar? Just kidding. No I didn't compare BH250 to Reidmar. I compared it to 350W Ampeg SVT3 Pro, in order to back up my theory that watts don't tell how loud the amp is. Here it is on top of Ampeg (provided as a backline) that served as an amp stand for the whole gig. I shared my experience with EBS Fafner, HD350 and HD650. I never tried Redimar, but I've read elsewhere that it is loud, and that agrees with what you said, but it also goes in line with what I said - watts don't tell how loud amp gets. All that said. I'm telling you how I experienced EBS line of amps. If you disagree with me, I'm totally fine with that. But I think it's fair that OP hears a different part of the story.
2. Completely disagree, the BH250 is a really quiet amp and useless in a full band environment. I am currently running a Mark Bass LM3 and an EBS Reidmar and I would say that the Reidmar into a 4ohm cab is louder!
I know, but it wasn't a fair comparison when my 250W TC BH250 smoked 350W Ampeg SVT III PRO through 4ohm Ampeg 410HLF neither - I couldn't believe how much louder TC was. Sorry, I really don't want to look like a smartass, but my point is that watts don't tell how loud will amp get. There are numerous other factors. It's like how both TC RH450 and RH750 are actually 236W heads, but RH750 sounds louder. I have a ShuttleMax 9.2 now and I love it. Unfortunately, I don't have that 4x10" cabinet anymore, so I can't tell how exactly loud it gets compared to other heads.
3. I have a HD350 head on loan at the moment from Bernie Goodfellow, it is new and only been used at one rehearsal and he has offered it to me at a knockdown price too but I am not taking up the offer. I am between Cheltenham and Cirencester so let me know if this sounds of interest to you?
 4. Yep ACS T1 are only available as a custom fit monitor, they are good and I am happy with mine but EBS Freak is right into all of this and has opted for another brand offering multiple bass drivers and he said that the bass response blew ACS out of the water so definitely worth checking out his opinion and findings. One thing I would ask is Do you really need a wireless system? Unless you are very mobile on stage the answer is probably no! A wired system is a lot cheaper my friend!!
ACS T Series are only sold as custom moulds as far as im aware, and i don't think you should have too much trouble with any of those 3 systems. The Sennheiser still seems to be a touring standard, and i believe (though he'll correct me if i'm wrong) that EBS_freak uses the Shure PSM900 system and highly rates it. The latest wireless tech is all moving toward digital stuff, which isn't adequate for IEM's at the moment due to latency issues as far as i'm aware. Liam
5.
Dear The Dark Lord, for somebody who has blocked me, you seem to spend a lot of time looking at my profile page. Just sayin'.
6. Only plan on using the GB for everything these days so hence the need to find a filter that works with that bass niceley. Looks like the GR2 would be useful if I can find one anywhere.
 7. No - too damn fiddly. I like to have my bass on full volume when I play and then just click on a filter and be away. I don't think that is too much to ask for is it!
would you not just turn down your bass?
8. Which one do you like best?
I have an MXR M82 (as mentioned above) plus a 3Leaf Audio GR2 which also has a sensitivity control. Both pedals work incredibly well with my active fretless. Very easy to dial in some nice squelchy, quacky funk!
9. Yeah, I have a Mutron III and the problem is that unless you have the gain up high it does not sound so good! Interestingly, the Mutron sounds great with a passive jazz or the 77 Stingray but the GB is just too hot for it!
The Mutron III has an input gain control too
10. Had one of these a couple of years ago and sold it as it was not needed but I was using different basses then. Shame is that I love my Aguilar Filter Twin but it just can't cope with the Rumour!!
The MXR M82 bass envelope filter has a "sensitivity" control so you can easily set how much of the signal is effected, and therefore how much dynamic quack you want. Consider this pedal man, it's amazing, and it will give you the control that you're looking for. Your uber-hot signal is not a problem. Dial that quack to suit your bass ... really
11. Evening all, Recently took possession of my spangly new GB Rumour 5 which is all good but these basses are renowned for their phenomenal on board EQ and thus have a very hot output signal. Problem is that I am struggling to get any of my envelope filters to cope with the signal, it is so hot that the filters won't open properly and thus I can't get my normal quacks funk sounds! I wonder if anyone can recommend a filter that works well with such a powerful input signal?
 12. I have decided to move on my Audio Technica wireless in ear monitor system (IEM) as with my current band we do not have the facility for me to be able to use this effectively so it has to go. This is the M2 system and comprises of the bodypack, 2 channel receiver and ear buds. It is a really adaptable system that allows you to run a stereo mix to both ears or split the signal left and right and have say your bass in one ear and the band mix in the other and you can then blend on the fly to your liking which is pretty cool. I have done a quick search on the web and they seem to be going for about £450 ish so I have posted the link below which gives you more info on the product from a retailer: http://www.soundexpo...CFW3KtAodIkMAKQ The link below is to the Audio Technica site which gives you the full spec on it http://www.audio-tec...2859d6112bfbaf/ In addition to the standard system I also bought the Audio Technica AM3 ambient lavalier mic which you can plug direct into the bodypack and this gives you as much ambient sound as you like (level can be adjusted on the pack) and this is great for taking away the feeling of isolation that you can get with sealed buds in your ears and and IEM system. Details on the mic are here: http://eu.audio-tech...=47&prodID=2008 I think this cost me about £85 but is worth it and is a really useful addition to the set up. I can post pics if anyone wants to see but it is all in original condition and comes with all packaging/boxes etc.
 13. The Squeezer is something I considered strongly before buying the Deep Impact but it looked far too complicated for someone like me to use! Also tried the Mark Bass Super Synth and that was the same, too feature heavy and tricky to edit sounds. What I love about the Deep Impact is that you have some great sounds in it, which for me nail that 70's synth bass sound at the touch of a button and with no messing around required and for that reason alone it gets my vote every time. Yes I wish I had one that cost me £85 but it didn't and for the money I spent on it I am very happy. If you want that sound you have to get the Deep Impact!!
I still have mine. I bought it for 90 quid in 2003. It tracks better than anything short of Steve Chicks revamped Industrial Radio MIDI synth system...particularly loves single pickup basses such as P's or stingrays. However a potential competitor is the Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer although I have not bought one yet and have been discouraged by a two knob interface and no USB programmability. The SB1 was never overhyped by Akai - it has a limited range of sounds but most of those sounds can be slotted straight into a song that someone has recorded in the past and they sound warm and fat. This makes the pedal UTTERLY fantastic for function bands and funk/disco covers. I Feel Love ? Right there. Rubber bandy synth bass from a Chicane tune? It's right there. Is it worth 700 quid? No, absolutely not, it's stupid money and I'd happily sell mine for that given its more than an Octavius Squeezer now. But I haven't tried a Squeezer yet to know how it stacks up to a Deep Impact to make that choice. So in the meantime, it's still a great pedal. I think Akai should do a re-release. I think Eventide could use the tech in their Pitchfactor pedal to do a pedal that is better.
14. Not true - I went down this route and yes you can get some interesting sounds but it is not that excellent synth sound that you can get from a Deep Impact, it is pretty unique on that front!
Buy yourself a boutique analogue fuzz, envelope filter and pitch shifter for the same money and have a hell of a lot more or, if you want the cheesy sounds, buy a synth
15. LOL!!! Will try and get some pics up over the weekend. Keep nagging the wife to take some with her sw***y camera but she does not oblige!!
Thought it was taking a long time to finish Mark !!!!thought you had changed your mind on the body shape, getting it cut into a flying v shape!!!!!Hope shes all you hoped for.look forward to the photos.cheers andy.
16. I didn't pay that much for mine but I do have to say that no other synth pedal I have used comes close to the sound you get from one of these. For me, all of the synth sounds that I was looking for are there straight out of the box with no faffing about required, which suits me well. It's only downside is that live it tends to lose all of your bottom end so it is imperative to use a pedal or loop that allows you to mix in some of your dry signal too.
 17. Sell your Bergs and go EBS - better still keep em all and buy a bigger flat/house whatever!!
 18. Thanks for the input guys, Reaper worked best for me in the end.
 19. Trying this out now! Where is the pitch shifting tool - not obvious on first glance! Thanks
Reaper, Mac or PC, has buit in pitch shifting, and retuning vst effects (that are a fair bit better than those in Audacity)...
20. That is perfect - many thanks, will give it a try! Thanks,
 21. Hi all, I have been using the Jam Up app on the iPad for a while and have to say it is great for rehearsing songs as it has some really good features. One of the most useful is being able to drop the tone of an original recording tone dome or up in semi-tone steps. I use this a lot as our singer has a lowish tone and we normally have to shift things down a bit for her to be comfortable. Problem I have is that since upgrading to iOS 7 on the iPad the jam function on Jam Up has stopped working. The bass signal goes in fine but in the jam section where you play along to the record as soon as you play back the track the bass signal cuts out which makes the whole thing useless as you can't hear yourself! I have looked on the web and it seems like there are some major issues with iOS 7 and music making apps so guess a patch will fix it in due course. However I am having to learn two new tunes for Weds and need to find something else to use for one that can drop the tone so that I can play along. Anyone got any ideas or recommendation for something that you use that works well?
 22. I picked this up in August and it is a fantastic bass, will try and get some decent pics up when I have 5 minutes to take them.
 23. Finally persuaded Mick to part with his EBS cab today, easy deal to do and top, top bloke to deal with so trade with in total confidence. One of these days we will finally get to meet Mick!'
