To confirm then, these two piggies are mine. Here they are having a lie down earlier.
What a lovely pair Maybe we should start a Mike Lull thread....
Ta Chili I know you were impressed with that bit of sensible acquisition going completely off-piste due to GAS; so check this out........ http://basschat.co.u...92#entry2823292
That looks great pal, proper classic, exactly what you need to turn up to that gig in style.
Well looking at your location your really not that far away, I could pop over with the Wals one day and have a blast on the Lull if you wouldn't mind? ...although perhaps that's a bad idea as it inevitably going to lead to me wanting to buy another bass...
PM'd mate
Used the Phaser, Autoswell, Chorus and Flanger at gig last night.....fantastic sound!
That's great man, really pleased you're chuffed with it

That looks great, love the burst and strong grain showing through. Awesome value you got there too, enjoy!
What a beaut, love the colour! Being a P, what's the neck like? Jazz-esque or a bit chunkier like a modern P? If I had the chance to get another I would in a heartbeat, I got quite lucky picking up a used 1.. especially being a lefty!
You did get lucky! These ones have a J neck 1.5, though they also come with a vintage width P neck too, 1.75. I had a P4 with a 1.75 and it was the nicest wide neck I'd ever played. I actually prefer the P neck on a P Bass but as these have the bridge pickup it'll make me play differently at times to the way I usually play a regular P, so the J neck does a great job for me. In all honesty, these are the most comfortable necks I've ever had.
What a lovely colour... I've not had the pleasure of playing a lull but they seem very highly regarded. ...something else on the bloody GAS list
The feelings mutual, your Wal's are stunning and pure envy fodder

Alberto bought a bass from me recently, he has been the perfect buyer as well as friendly a reliable. Communication was easy, overseas payment went through with no issues or delays and it was a quick and easy transaction. It's my pleasure to start Alberto's feedback thread, I have a feeling he may buy one or two more basses! Cheers
Wow, stunning basses you have there! After having bought mine and seeing how good they are, no wonder you have ordered a second one Congratulations, enjoy it!
Cheers pal. I'm so glad I did order another. I can't believe how different they sound yet how perfectly the same they feel and react to the way I dig in and play. I'm one very happy bunny
She's a beauty... A quick note to say, Daniel was a great guy to chat to and very genuine. Good luck with the sale.
Nice Lull, need al lined fretless though and a little bot over budget!!!! How good are Lull basses?
In my opinion....THAT good. It was their light weight that drew me to them, however I'm now smitten by their general vibe, they are the amazing Fenders that Fender never made. Perhaps the same for Thunderbirds too? Plus he has some great other models in the range. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of a good Fender Custom Shop, but my Lull's are just so different yet based on a Fender. There's so many great basses and makers out there, for me it's all about finding the maker that matches your ideals, for me that's Lull. However I don't expect everyone to fall for them like I have.
Life is short. You may as well accumulate as many Lulls as possible before you join the choir invisible... Your descendants will thank you...
Bro, is all this to justify your soon to be huge Shergold collection? But yeah, the thought has crossed my mind, I could never have enough Lull's to honest. Found my thang.
-
Oof! That's very pretty. It would look well in your Lull family... and you probably DO need a fretless anyway, right?
Well now you say it, I don't currently have a fretless so perhaps I DO need it after all? Actually, I'm already thinking about the 5 string I'd like to order next year. Not sure if I need it right now, (let alone afford it) so this could be more about the fact that I love his basses so much. But if I'm playing more next year it'll be hard not to justify a fiver, so in the meantime I can dream a little.....
Loving that! Lovely pair congrats on the new sibling!

Like!

Lovely looking bass, love the colour, congrats John
Thanks fella"s, I'm still buzzing. Mrs Chiliwailer is finally happy too, she's been giving me tons of grief for selling my blue Jazz Bass and purple Modulus purely as she loves the colours. She's not into the trans blue of my other Lull so finally there's a colour she likes in the green one. She came pretty close to buying the Jazz Bass just to keep it hanging on the wall! Who'd have thought, a Mrs giving grief for SELLING
So what happens when you put it next to Candy Apple Red?
Then I'm only one away from a traffic light set
Wow, the new Lull is lovely! but your other one is one of the nicest basses I've ever seen, absolutely adore the finish, they make a stunning pair
Thanks man, really glad you like it. Bass Direct have a gorgeous Lull Jazz 5 string in the same colour. Luckily the blue one is my number 1 because I much prefer that colour too
-
That surf green colour is perfect.
Thank you, it's one of those colours that changes in the light quite a bit. It's actually a Sea Foam Green Metaliic, the Metaliic element is pretty cool close up.
Lovely basses you have there Chiliwailer. Cheers, Jon
Cheers Jon, im really chuffed to have them. I've been selling off a lot of basses that are either too heavy or ergonomically uncomfortable for me so these two have been well worth the wait
-
Sounds like a great NBD, killer tones, set up great and tons of options to play with. Toggle switch is a very good touch. Looks really good, loving the white too.
-
I love those Fender flats too as they have good treble and clarity. I also use the light weight ones, but then for my style light flats always suit me better. I tend to go for the right string for the bass and vibe I'm after. So I go between Thomastik if I need versatility, Fender flat for an old school tone, LaBella flats for a boomy bass tone or coated D'Addarrio nickel for rounds just because my sweat kills rounds easily. Maybe rounds will suit you better on a different bass?
Could you not just wear tinted glasses if the colour bothers you Congrats on the new Lull
Good call, rose tinted glasses should do the trick....
Not fitting a tort guard to that green one is heresy.
Rebel green it is then!
-
Don't you dare! I love that colour. Damn! I seem to have shown my hand.
Haha Right you are though, I think it'd be a crime to cover that up. I think it's my guilty pleasure.....
