Would love to hear of a cheaper option
-
Parcel2go insure it themselves, approx £75 extra for a £1500 bass. Think UPS do too, costly though. Read the conditions about restrictions and expectations etc.
Hi guys - just been alerted to this thread. it didn't sell the first time and has been readvertised. It'd be wrong for me to say anything about the auction though as I don't own the bass - but yes it used to be mine and I sold it when I was a teen some 25 odd years ago. It does seem to lack the things you'd expect from a real fender, but I didnt know that when I was rather young!
You tempted to buy it back? 7 mins to go....
Hmm....I'm a tone snob too and what you say is what I am afraid of.....Even if this only meant to be a back up, I do like my Phaser and Chorus to be very lush and full sounding with no volume drops or spikes, unless I want them.
Get what you pay for, false economy, quantity over quality, Jack of all trades master of none. Ok run out of cliches now You already knew this though, good luck.
Last seen being sold by a buffoon some 20 years ago to a guy from Bury St Edmunds. Yes, I was young a stupid!
Grangur found her again Dood... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/264850-fender-or-pretender-no328/

Very sure this is Dood's old bass that sold on eBay recently. 70's body with 62 RI neck and Dimarzio. He has this in the Lost Dogs thread. Edit - yeah same bass, same eBay seller.
This bass is gorgeous, if I wasn't thinningthe heard I would have given it a serious thought.
Tell me about it!!!! Thanks
Nice bass and nice Tele!
Cheers, they do look good together! I put the P Bass back in the case after the picture and put my blue Lull Precisoon back on the wall, just didn't look the same...

Sound quality wise, depends if you're a purist and what you expect from a pedal and how they react with your current tone. If you have a guitar and amp tone that you love then I'd put money on these pedals compromising that, making it thin, less pronounced and considerably weaker. But if you just need a job done, a tool for the trick then I guess either would do that for you no problem. I'm the first to admit I'm a tone snob, I notice things others don't seem to mind. Wish that wasn't the case

Chose B3K as I know and love it. Never did like MXR overdrives/ distortions, just their other pedals. Hope the new one changes my mind. Never tried the Cog.

That looks amazing, I'd be well impressed if I saw that at a gig

Looking great hanging out with my two tone sunburst Custom Shop 51 Nocaster Relic. Resisting the urge to put flats on....would only end up in a withdrawn advert...!
No mate. Swapping isn't really an option. The songs are set in blocks. I'm playing the first two blocks of four, having a long break and then coming back for the last block of three songs, which is effectively the encore, with 10+ players and a show choir. Thinking about it, the MP3 I've been given is a pitch shifted live version and there's a lot of crap going on in there that I could do without. This possibly adds to how bad it all sounds overall. I'll pitch shift the studio version and see how I get on with that.
Fingers crossed it sounds a tad better then. From my PoV if it's a one off show I'd raise the concern and if I get nowhere then suck it up and hopefully, very smugly, say 'told you so...' Rest of the night sounds fun though.

Can't imagine you ever being anyone's bitch mate! Sounds like you made your mind up, can you song swap with another bassist? Too many ways to skin this cat, see if you can roll with your gut feeling.

Mint (WBW) pickguards on vintage Precisions
Chiliwailer replied to chrisanthony1211's topic in Bass Guitars
It'd be more appropriate on a Custom Colour to stay period correct. Though in 1959/60 Fender did provide Chas McDevitt's wife with a w/b/w guard for her s/b P Bass to match his Strat -
Interesting article on state of things at Gibson

Brilliant. A good friend of mine buys high end electrics and has been non stop complaining about the shoddy new models. Shame -

I bought a Lull form them and wouldn't hesitate to buy there again. I would never buy a bass from the strength of a video --BUT-- I found the videos very useful and I was certainly able to hear the difference between the Basses I wanted to check out. I also checked out other makes to get an idea of the way basses come across in their vids. Their preamp/amp set up isn't my set up, the guy playings fingers aren't my fingers so I wouldn't expect the bass to sound like that in my hands. But I loved the fact they do the videos and that you can see the bass in action, even if just to compare models or put the fun factor in.
