1. You don't make this easy Rich. I've got £600 sat in the cupboard that's going towards a new MacBook.......must resist!!!!!
2.
Hi! The Classic Stingray is a re-make of the older earlier Rays, with the earlier and more modern features on one bass. All of them are 2EQ. The Stingray is either 2 or 3 EQ...and is cheaper, but the normal type you will see. 2 vs 3 EQ is a difficult one. I love mid control so I like the 3 band. They sound similar but the 3EQ I THINK has more hi mids when set flat. Side by side you'd be pushed to hear much difference. These £1000+ ish 2EQ models are the same, but limited colours and no proper case, (I personally don't dig black that much, and red or blue aren't my favourite colours for basses).
The 2 vs 3 eq is a personal taste thing. Personally I prefer the 2 on the fretless Ray and 3 on the fretted.
3. Some of us are lucky enough to own one....mines of the Candy apple Red variety.
4. Good price for a cracking bass. Every so often I decide to sell my AVRI but then I take it to a rehearsal (it's too precious to use at the toilets I generally play - Squier territory!) and realise I'll not find another Jazz that sounds this good.
5. Have one of these myself in candy apple red. Absolutely superb Jazz basses.
6. This is a heavily modded Squier precision. It started life as a Squier Precision Afinity but the following mods have been made: BBOT bridge changed for high mass (BBOT will be included should you wish) Original neck changed for a maple board Mighty Mite with vintage tint. 70s Fender logo. Wilkinson tuners added Pots and wiring gubbins changed to good quality stuff (orange drop cap, CTS etc) Pickups upgraded to Wizard Thumpers Pick guard changed from horrible white one ply to Bass Doc 3 ply torty. Trade wise, looking for a nice Jazz for cash.....looking at a trade value of £200. This really is a nice Precision, a few dings but nothing major or through the paint and certainly looks the part......it's just that I have to admit that the Precision sound just doesn't work for me. I'll post some pics as soon as I can get to the laptop.
7. I've always fancied one of these. Closest I got was a 30th Anni that's now with the Hackenbacker. Never seem to have the cash when one comes up especially at this great price. Have a bump - shouldn't be around long, these are great MMs
8. Bought a Barefaced cab off Pete, cab in great condition and my back is already thanking him. Great guy to deal with and very knowledgeable about all things bass related.
9. Bumperoooonie
10. Hi P, no, afraid it's standard 19mm with 34" and non bendwell.
11. The wife decided it was time to downsize the family runabout from the old Passat Estate to a nice new A3. Great idea........but not for me, my trusty MB 115HR fits but not without some buggering around. so looking for something smaller and equally light. Something from Aguilar, MarkBass, Barefaced, etc would do nicely so long as the dimensions are smaller than the 115HR. No pics at the mo, but email me and I'll send some through. It's in VGC with no tears in the carpet or dinks on the guard. It's been pretty babied and gigged infrequently in the 3 years that I've had it. I'd put a trade value of about £300 on it and would put cash in if needed.
12. Lovely bass J, shame I don't have a £700 trade.
13. I could have sold it a few times over FM but only interested in trade.....no discounts on new ones as we both know ;-)
14. One last crack at this before I look at other options.
15. There's a comolded nut behind the zero fret....
16. Thanks for the advice guys, don't think I'll go for the nut surgery (ooh eer missus) on this bass though - doesn't look like an easy job on the carbon neck without buggering some of the deep gloss finish. No worries OM - if you ever fancy a change let me know. Knew this was a long shot but hey you never know.
17. PM me a email Addy FB and I'll iPhone a couple....
18. First bump
19.
What is the colour?
Good old Black
20.
Before you sell such a fine instrument why not investigate Scott Devine's technique for making a four string play like a five. He used an EBS octave pedal. The low octave is full on and the natural sound is off completely. Just play the notes a bit further up the neck. He's a four string player too and it works for him.
I hadn't thought of that! Just picked up an IRig Stomp so could try this out. Martin! long time no hear.....yes I always said this would go to the grave with me.
21. A very very long shot this but here goes. I've recently found myself in a 60s type band and the singers keys are making quite a bit of the set list a struggle on a 4 string. Now I generally hate 5 strings, have tried and failed to adapt 3 times.....but I've decided to try again for the sake of this project. My main go to bass for this stuff is my trusty Status Streamline (the 6th one ever made!), I've loved this bass ever since acquiring it about 3 years ago. It's in excellent condition with no dings, scraps or scratches and maybe against my better judgement this is the bass I'm looking to trade against a very specific 5. Because I hold the Streamline in such high esteem my fiver of choice is no surprise a Streamline 5. At a push I'd also look at a Status Stealth 5. Both these basses are as rare as hens teeth so no major expectation of success but hey ho. Pics available on request. Oh, nearly forgot, in accordance with the new rules I'm putting a trade value of £1000 on the Streamline 4.
22.
My new-to-me Streamline Fretless..... I think I will name her Seven of Nine!
Wouldn't mind assimilating that one meself.
23. Very nice.......but you need a matching jacket for those function gigs ;-)
24. Very nice, wish I had more money and less basses..........
