Is it me, or is the Classfieds slower than ever at the moment? Noticing a LOT of stuff hanging around for ages that would have been snapped up not so long ago...

Just been told by HMRC that I paid too little tax in the last tax year. Great. As if money wasn't tight enough already, now I've got to find an extra 30p a month to give them.

Incoming NBD... an itch I couldn't resist scratching, but I fear I might regret it...

Just resurrected my old mic stand (and when I say 'old', it still bears the name of a band I was in that split in 1988). Very rusty and creaky, but after disassembly an overnight soak in white vinegar and a clean-up with wire wool soon got rid of the rust on the adjusting bits, and with a bit of silicon WD spray here and there it's as good as... well, not good as new, but it's got a new lease of life.

It is with great sadness that I write this post, but my beloved Shaun died of a heart attack at the end of July, he was only 64. He loved being a member of Basschat and had forged some good friendships with fellow bass players. He will be sadly missed and I miss hearing him play bass from him room. Thank you for the years of joy you gave him. Louise (his wife)

D'Addario strings have clarified on Twitter that it is pronounced Duh-Dairy-Oh. Who knew?!

What a fine howdy do. I'm signed off for 2 weeks with Labyrinthitis, middle son tested positive for Covid this morning, wife still feeling after effects of covid 3 months on.
What a crappy day.

Joy: realising that Crich Tramway Museum is only half an hour down the road from my holiday let.
Heartbreak: finding that yesterday was its last open day this year.

Since when were musicman bongo basses hard to find?? GAS killing me and I can only see a couple available in the wrong colour 😂

Joined 11 years ago today....I had three basses back then. A 4 string, a 5 string and an acoustic...probably owned 50+ basses since.
You people have been a bad influence on me...😉😉

That disappointing moment when a name bassist whom you befriended and greatly admired chooses to belittle you on Farcebook when you take issue with their alarmist vaxx-skeptic views.
Closing that door with a heavy heart.

Assuming you wanted the bass, would you buy a 5 string that weighed 10.4lbs?

There are two things I can tell you about rotator cuff tendonitis.
1. It hurts.
2. It really, really hurts.

Really feel for you mate, it was the sleeping (or lack of it!) that got me. I found if I propped my neck/shoulder up a bit instead of lying flat it helped a bit but not enough to give me a good night's sleep. Have you got private medical insurance, I know if you haven't it's nearly impossible to get anything done at the minute?

I had a bout of this in 2019, nothing the physio did sempt to improve the situation and the exercises didn't help a great deal. As I'm allergic to Ibuprofen I couldn't take advantage of anti inflamatories either. Thought I was going to have to say goodbye to bass playing with a strap. As the gig list was a bit depleted last year for some reason, the shoulder seems to have settled and is now pain free. Hope you get lucky Rich
