    I treat each bass I've had as an experience which I am able to upload to my internal library of tone knowledge, and that helps me appreciate my next purchase and judge whether I want to keep it or not. At the same time I'm mindful about rose tinted spectacles and every bass I've sold has been for a reason. Sometimes I think I'd really like to play the Smith basses I sold, but then I remember why I sold them and can now better appreciate the qualities they offered which I did like in my next bass. Also - if you sell something and really regret it, then you more often than not have the fun of searching for another, safer in the knowledge that you're going to like it (instrument variances aside). Basically what @Beedster said. And that's how you end up with a hodgepodge mutilated vintage mustang, which anyone who plays it will know is the embodiment of everything that's good 😄

    In the past I’ve used Dymo label tape to cover poles. It’s stronger, and removes without mess.

    Indeed I can, it’s a Mustang bass with a thunderbird pickup in the neck position and a rickenbacker pickup at the bridge. It’s what Fender would have called it 😂

    Hi folks I'm thinking about getting a pedalboard for a handful of effects now that I have a regular 'gig' and I want to avoid using velcro. That leaves me with either Aclam 'clamps' or Temple Audio base screws. Both look fine but I'm wondering how well they'd work with a pedal which has 'feet' so that the base of the pedal isn't flush with the board. For example my Mutron has quite big feet which lift it about 1cm. I don't want to remove them (they're glued on). The clamps on the Aclam look like they'd be a bit small to grab enough of the pedal, and the base unit on the Temple Audio doesn't look like it has any travel to allow the baseplate to be anything but flush with the board itself. Is that right? Does anyone have either and can confirm? Cheers

    Technically they still need shielding from interference. Perhaps it wasn't done as much then as there were less electrical devices to cause it.

    I must admit i've only recently started listening to the Beatles, and muddled my way through 'Don't Let Me Down' last night, lovely bassline to play Mind you I think I prefer this version:

    Someone's used an AI software like Moises to isolate the bass. Whilst it does a good job in general, it doesn't work well for showing a single instrument soloed, where you can hear some bleed, noise gate and digital artefacts. It works way better for removing an instrument from a mix, I think. But these results are enough to help you pick up the lines.
