1.
forgive my ignorance, but i'm guessing floor model means it's the original v-bass, not the vb-99 ?
That's right mate Great bit of kit, wouldn't be without mine!! ped

Im Back

Hello mate. Good to see you! ped
3. Having tried them all I can safely say what I like to hear is the sound of my bass, not my amplifier colouring the sound. I prefer my relatively cheap 800w 1u poweramp to the other all tube heads I have had. Works a treat and doesn't even get warm. Every time I have used a big Ampeg rig I end up sounding like someone else.

One bass only
I really do think a lot of the 'differences' between bass sounds are subtleties that escape me and probably 99% of the audience. There may be 1% of the people I play in front of thinking 'that would sound better on a Jazz/Precision/Sadowsky, Fodera, Alembic......'
I never get that argument - I mean if you can't tell and aren't bothered, cool. But I pretty much know 99% of the audience won't be able to tell, but that's no excuse not to enjoy the intracity of your gear and your sound. Imagine if music was like that. 99% of the music I listen to wouldn't appeal to 99% of the average punters out there, and I thank god for that every time I fire up the stereo. ped
5. Very cool, always enjoy your vids. I especially like the ending, to be honest I prefer that to the slap fury (but that doesn't mean it isn't impressive!!) ped

One bass only

Used to have several but since finding my fretted Vigier, it really has blown everything else I have had out of the water. When I installed the Roland GK system it was the icing on the cake, because I can still cop stingray/jazz bass sounds and full on polyphonic synths but all on the one, most comfortable and best playing bass of them all. I really like being able to call it 'My bass' as opposed to 'one of my basses'. I think you should go for it Russ, then you can concentrate on getting the best from it and not constantly wonder if it would sound better on the other bass... ped
7. I'll be there adding a touch of class and skill to the proceedings ped
8. Well all I can add is that Vigier are clearly the leaders in this area ;0) I too can safely say I can tell the difference between a wooden and a graphite neck on a given bass, having owned two basses with both necks for comparison. Never had any problems with graphite necks other than finding one which has no truss rod but perfectly fits my preferred amount of relief (almost zero). the Status had a truss rod but it did very little and wouldn't tighten far enough, but it was close enough. Cheers ped
9. Well Rich tries but we basically have to put them in a sack and roll him back out of the BC office
10. I thought it was in there, but no matter, we still reserve the right to do what we think serves the forum best, and people having lots of accounts isn't a good thing, in my experience. Especially when they lie about it and do it to subvert the ways of the good nature of the forum, which has happened once or twice. Threads like this may appear funny (honestly, I didn't really get it, but that's me) but it means managing the forum could quickly become a massive ballache - which in the long term means the forum goes under. ped
11. Haha, I would have to wrestle such an object from his steely like predator grip and cover myself in mud so he can't see me with his infra red vision. If he sees me I'm going to have to dodge that shoulder cannon and find my way out of the rainforest before he blows us both to hell, so might be easier to go to a skip and find some wood instead. No harm in asking, though (if you can decipher the gurgles and clicks he communicates in) ped
12. Rumbled!! I might have to ditch the ironing boardlet for a proper wooden shelf at some point; the pink covering is a little too fruity, even for me. ped
13. Oh so THAT'S what is is!!! Well I can't think of a better use for it!! Just been jamming these last few hours, how I have missed playing the bass. To be honest I haven't touched it for a few weeks at least, and I haven't bought a piece of gear for the last year or so. I don't have GAS any more for bas stuff so I can concentrate on my playing now!! ped
14. I have been draggin' my arse a bit recently when it comes to bass playing. Having just moved house and all sorts of other things I had not taken the time to set up a proper bass practice area in my house. Well today I finally did something about it! It's quite simple, just how I like it. An old Behringer mixer taking a signal from my Roland V-bass and my iPod (or can also be nearby CD player or laptop). The Vbass signal is in stereo so I can play stereo synths and take advantage of the subtle stereo reverbs and so forth. I also feel it 'wraps' around the songs better enabling me to hear myself alongside the recorded track. Sound goes out to my preferred Sure IEMs and bob's yer uncle. Stuck it all on a weird half sized ironing board on a chair. Cheers ped
15. I had this issue once with one of mine but I switched it all off and on again and it was fine ever since!!
16. Here's Nellie doing my pedalboard

Contract expired pending new deal!
18. Would you be able to meet half way rather than post? I don't trust Royal Fail
19. Just found the thread and reopened it - must have been a mistake I guess? Interesting thread, from someone who has his strings VERY low, probably about the same as Mike's (Urb)

My collection!

Just playing with my new camera flash, thought I would bung this pic us as the bass is quite nice and clean here for a change!
21.
Ped, what on earth is your problem man? You asked me to chill out the bumps and limit them to every couple of days, one reads the 2nd July, the next is the 4th. Can I politely request that now I've done as you asked you butt out of the thread? There's nothing in the rules about having a bass on here for a while (some have been on far longer in fact) but you seem fixated on suggesting I'm doing something wrong on here when I'm not. As I've said, I'm in no rush to sell and am now having second thoughts about it anyway after joining a new band. I've had three offers of £420 for the bass which suggests to me it isn't incorrectly priced, unfortunately they have all been from abroad and I don't want to post to Europe. In fact, I will bring the price down, now £400. I hope nothing else is an issue for you mate!
Hi mate PM sent (an apology) - Like I said via PM I definitely have come across as a bit of a prick there... ped
22. And there's today bump as expected... perhaps you need to adjust your price, bumping clearly isn't working!
23. Cheers Rhys - quick bump. May take offers very close to asking price. Cheers ped
