  2. I think it should be the new normal
  3. That’s Feiten’ talk 🤜
  4. The Roland VB99 (and I think GR55) has an advanced version of the Boss effect which tracks and processes each string separately, you can even pan them and apply separate reverbs and eq to each. I’ve got a fretless patch set up with the on-board bass assignable knob for varying the high cut which goves a great variety of sounds. Weirdly because it sounds so good I start playing like I’m on a fretless, too.
  5. But what they do have is an irritating TV advert with an instantly dislikable man gushing over how he is 'literally living on teams' as if that's going to convince anyone
  6. Be careful with the 'free shipping' bit because there's always duty to pay. In the past I have a feeling Japan Direct have undervalued items in order to avoid taxes which is risky at best. I've had two Bacchus basses that I imported myself from Japan. With wonderful. The Jazz had no forearm cutaway so was a bit uncomfortable to play seated but the TwentyFour I had next was just sublime in every way. It had the 'Smith' sound in spades and was just great to play. I sold both when I rationalised my collection down to four strings, then one four string. I have some recordings made with both basses I'll dig out. Cheers ped
  7. Alright we get it... @JULIPI let me know if you want the thread cleaning.
  8. Trade offers by PM only please
  9. Yeah bit weird, my computer is a 2012 model though but the camera is 720p and fine in Zoom/Hangouts.
  10. It doesn’t like my iMac, says the camera isn’t up to requirements.
  11. I’m afraid it must be a browser issue your end. Try clearing your cache and trying again!
  12. Yep an SB1. Nice basses (regardless of what you play on it!) A very natural and logical evolution of the Fender Precision if you ask me. Great pickup, lovely smaller body, excellent bridge and anodised scratchplate with crackle paint finish - full US build quality for much less (often) than the better known Fender equivalent.

It was the 70s! 😂 They look OK to me?
  14. Incredible workmanship. The hole on the headstock means you can put it on your key ring!
  15. I wouldn’t expect mail delivery services to be operating anything like normally at the moment so maybe that’s partly to do with it.
  16. God damn that’s a beauty. Really interesting to see where the neck stops on the back view too. I think that construction really gives the bass it’s warm sound.
  17. Still go this if anyone’s up for it.
  18. Good call
  19. I’ll keep my eyes peeled! You should also post in items wanted. Cheers!
  20. No probs let me know if I can help with anything else
  21. Yes quite easy to do with the filters https://www.basschat.co.uk/search/?q=Squire Jazz&type=forums_topic&nodes=19&updated_after=any&sortby=newest&search_and_or=and
  22. Ah yes I begrudgingly agree
  23. It's mostly because it's defined by pickup position rather than brand, so for example a P bass sound can be a Fender or an Ibanez, doesn't really mater it's the position that gives that ballpark character. Smith have (nearly) always used such unique and specific pickup placement that it has a completely different character which really sets it apart. That's not to say some basses can't do a 'Smith Sound' but I guess there are only so many ways you can place pickups and Smith did that first, or most successfully.
  24. He's only gone and sorted it!
  25. Hm weird I'm just checking with @charic
