1. Yep, a bit but not much. The general effect opens the attack right up though so it's fairly muddy and times. I used it in a really noisy band and it worked lovely.
2. I stand (sit) corrected, in fact I think I new the responses you've highlighted already. I meant that there's no additional taxes YET. Of course imports have got more expensive as they reflect exchange rates. I've not had GAS for a while and haven't really noticed too many things shift, has Toms prices risen?
3. It's leveraging from perceived value, big brands demand bigger margins for their brand name, boutique builders boast better quality and their craft. It's just market fluctuation as less people are buying so prices go up for the 'core' audience. There's no way brexit has had any effect yet, that's lazy conjecture.
4.
are you not ever so slightly cheating? that's 5 or 6!!!
Hmmm maybe, but remember your old disaster transport - reverb and delay in one. Theres plenty of pedals that cover gain from overdrive through to gatedfuzz so...
5. Well, twelve pedals is a huge signal chain no matter how you nurse it all the way through to the amp. Are all the pedals really needed, long winded chains work at the detriment of the overall sound sometimes almost like compensation. Could you be more specific about the sound you want and get that with a far more concise arrangement of pedals. But yeah if you have good gear and a well balance sound within the band keep it simple.
6. Distortion/overdrive/fuzz + reverb/echo/delay All you need, ever.
7. Just found this... Any results? Seems a laugh!
8. Depends on style really, I never play clean chorus and always need a boosted signal into Unichorus, which sounds just about right to me with rate at 8 (slowest setting) and Depth at 5 (deepest). Sounds huge but I think you need a really clear tone for chorus to work withour getting muddy, like most modulation stuff on bass.
9. Rhanks gareth, anything youd want to noodle really. If you could just blast a single note through a few sequenced patches and tweek the settings as it goes, I can get an idea if the digitalness and click is something id go for, as it sounds like my Adrenalinn and mates Slicer. Thanks if you get time for this
Just caught this thread. Are you guys still looking for a solution? Have you maybe looked at a Euro-rack modular solution. There's an awful lot of gear that would probably do what you need to (albeit quite expensive). I was thinking a sequencer (with eight or sixteen steps) could modulate the filter cutoff frequency via a CV input, and gate the output as well giving you controllable portamento between successive steps. Just a thought
Yeah, sounds about right. But as usual im trying to keep costs and 'engineering' down. I think the red panda partical pedal did something vaguely close, but im not sure if that would click and judder whilst tweeking the settlings like other digitals ive tried. Ive found that any delay just takes the crispness out of the sequence, and the click go over the top of that with the Adrenalinn. Anyway, thanks for replies guys
10. An entertaining read. "Fuzz monkeys are generally fed the most bananas" 100% TRUE
11. Hey Gareth, long time, but any update on this? So, both myself with the Adrenalinn and my mate with the Boss splicer have found that the digital sound and control of these effects make them totally 'naff'. There's no smooth way to transition from patch speeds, wet/dry balance, frequency ratios and even volume etc. Any slight adjustment has an audible difference at that point, be it a click or drop, even if its in the slightest, its still noticeable and only manageable by using other pedals to control the effect of it. Any developments BC has found?
12. Haven't gigged as the bassist for 10 months and that was two gigs about a fortnight apart. The 'band' didn't know each other nor really enjoy it. Ive found more opportunity in obscure table top noise events recently, long live tge resilient DIY scene! But dont kill off tge venues!
13. Driving people to your site Eric?
14. Well this is for a drone project, where we take a signal generator and modulate it. I usually have some prepared visuals going on in the background that loosely relate to the 'story arc' of the drone. But I'm after some more in sync and connected, for example. I'm checking out James Alex Hardy's work, seems 'simple' enough...
15. mmorris - Any kind what so ever, just a strobe light flicker or anything - general Huge - Maybe, but I forgot to mention Id like to do this analogue. Dad- I have no idea what that is! Is that the post Brexit stock market? Yeah not so much an oscilloscope but any other visual signal.
16. Hi there brainy people. I'm hoping you can tell me what I need to solder together... How can I take an audio signal and convert it into a visual signal. Or what variants on that audio/visual syncopation are possible and in what format? I basically need to know what Transducers to use and if these are common within a certain type of box / gizmo / device. Looking on Wiki - I need a circuit featuring an Electroacoustic transducer running into a Cathode-ray tube (CRT) : meaning that I can plug a normal jack lead into this circuit and get an audio (Hdmi/SVGA/VGA) out - which can then be plugged into a projector for example... Is there anything out there that does that?
17. Ahhh cool Owen. I bet its sounding sweet. BTW - if I had a future impact id try learn the little phatty basslines from this... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc0SO6RHSnU I would, anyway, vids please Theres two of us in a table top noise project and ive just picked up this Adrenalinn and my pal has the boss slicer, very cool bit of gear. Since we use a constamt tone we thought a juxtaposed sequence of 'voicing' helps give a narrative during quieter moments. Its cool all these multi-effect units seem to have made an effort with sequenced effects, but the Zvex has ultimate control over speed and filter patches within the sequence. Maybe they are considered more midi based and 'clik' based effects as individual patches seem hard to jump in and out of in a live setting, unless your playing songs with the same tempo and pattern throughout.
18. Only if you've got the time and inclination to know yourself Gareth. Im smitten with this Adrenalinn pedal, got alot going for it and ive done some basic figuring out already tonight, very impressed. The drum machine side is a bit tacky but it'll be perfect for other casio projects. Intetested to see how I can get this working in a live setting as its digital transitions can be quite abrasive as the parameters default when changing patches so any adjustments in tempo, presents, delay setting etc all get wiped. Clever bit of kit though, chuffed!
19. Let me kniw how that goes Owen, I was very close myself. Ive got the Adrenalinn II sitting beside me at work and cant wait to get it set up.
20. Big Red, thanks dude. Just googled, watched some demos and got one from eBay! It looks like a nightmare to underatand properly (like most multi effects) but ill enjoy figuring it out, nice one.
21. Not bad idea Paul, but id love a crisp transfer between sequences. Cheers gareth, can you slow the sequence down at all? Hey what about the boss splicer? Could that give you freedom over the phase lengths and their filter settings?
22. Anyone know any cheaper alternatives on the market that comes close to the effects you can get from the Zvex SuperSeek Wah, SupperSeek Trem or Superringtone?
