I keep the Aural Enhancer on the SWR at 11:00, Gain at 13:00, Master as needed and the rest at noon. The pedal preamp is there for taste, so scoop or bump to taste. Buttons are fun, try them!

Mxr bass comp here. On all the time for a little limiting. Easy to set up!

I love my new Verellen valve preamp, it does give that bounce and full-fat tone when I want it, and I switch it off to go directly into the SWR 750x which is tight like a tight thing!

I'm still curious if anyone has any experience with this slim double bass, as I would imagine it would be less loud for practice at home, but good enough when amplified at gigs? In - MXR m82 bef - Verellen meatsmoke preamp - MXR m87 bc - out Verellen rec out to tuner. The comp is last in the chain because the envelope filter and preamp are sensitive to attack. Effect-GAS free \0/

Its such a shame music isn't produced as intricately as it can be, really takes the fun out of all that wondrous technology!

Rapidly growing gas for a rockabilly upright. Nowhere to put it!

The low B (A on mine really) is great now that I have found good strings. .125 was too thin to work with the scale length imo, 130 does good but my preference is 135. The G being close to the edge took me a wek to get used to, SR5 allows a very low action and a light touch and any bends and trems can be trained upwards. If this is a problem for some players, replacing the nut fixes 90% of that 'issue'. The smaller spacing at the bridge was a real eye opener, so much so I'm replacing the bridge on my MTD kingston (single H) with a 17.5mm bridge. Mine is all maple, couldn't tell the difference with rosewood with my eyes closed. Flipping the series/parallel switch makes more of a difference.

I use Elacin ER15 and have the monitors for it. Not cheap but very effective. Now I just need a wireless unit to replace the cable, which is as short as money is at the moment :/ http://www.elacin.com/be/en/elacin-music
