1. Hey guys, Friend of mine is looking for a sight-reading bassist for his theatre company. Info forwarded to me as follows: "Need a good music reader, 1st instrumental call is on the 28th Novemeber. Band call is 13th Decemeber, and the dates are 15th to the 19th (with 2 performances on sat) . We are a Christian company, don't have to be Christian but just needs to know. Thank you. Contact: 07403282708 or [email protected]"
2. Updating is good. I personally love my Bass Whammy with the polyphonic setting on!
3. Having never owned, or even had the chance to try out, an original SB-1, I'm not too bothered if it's not exactly the same as the original model. Close enough to fool most people, and with a host of upgraded feature sounds like good selling points to me... There is a worry that, it being a smaller company, not too many of these will be made, making this rarer than the Deep Impact!
4. Cool. Been looking at it for a while. Sitting on the (ever increasing) wishlist!
5.
Boss DD-500 added yesterday......
I had a DD-20 some time ago... How's the 500 working out for you?
6. Shade under £300... Pricey, but not as bad as some of the DI second hand prices...
7. Just catching up on this over on Talkbass. Apparently, this is due to have a harmoniser section in it too, effectively giving you the Deep Impact and Unibass in one box (plus a whole lot more...)!
8. Now sold!
9. Yeah, my thoughts exactly... I generally use a .88 on guitar and a 1mm on bass... But each to their own... :-)
10. I always have a few spares on the mic stand, but not excessive numbers... On a slightly related note, watched this video recently: http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/therapy-bass-player-michael-mckeegan-reveals-his-rig-625040 If me eyes do not deceive me, those are Dunlop 0.6 and 0.73 picks that he holds at the end. Are these really considered heavy...?
11. Well, we've had confirmation that the pub is going to pay us slightly extra to cover the additional charges the system makes for the transaction to go through, so that's ok, but it's still an enormous hassle to go through for not very much money...
12.
Being brought in by Greene King , across the board .
Good (in a bad way) to know...
13. Our thoughts exactly... Seems major overkill for our beer money...
14. Hey guys, Anyone heard of or had experience of Invapay (http://www.invapay.com/)? My band have just come up against a venue that insist on using this as their method of payment, but looking into it you'd be singing up to pages and pages of Terms and Conditions including fees and VAT payments etc etc... We've never had an issue with cash in hand, or bank/paypal transfers before, but this seems to assume that we're set up as a business! To make it clear, the money we make from gigs barely, if ever covers the cost of rehearsals, equipment, fuel etc, so this is not our living, but we don't want to be losing additional money!
15. Dropping to £45.
16. Interesting... I've heard a lot from people raving about Aguilar's HiFi qualities, but I suppose it's all individual perceptions...
17. As a thought, has anyone tried running a Aguilar preamp into a Markbass power amp? Best of both worlds, or major faff for no benefit?
18. Bringing up a bit of an older thread, but it's around the decision I'm looking at at the moment. Currently using a Markbass 115 cab with a GK 1001-II head and looking to move to a lighter, smaller amp. I like the tone at the moment, but would prefer something cleaner/flatter/more transparent. My OCD side would prefer to keep it all the same company, but I'm quite tempted by the Tone Hammer 500, especially as I'm also considering the TH preamp/DI pedal for when I'm playing ampless.
19. Yep, no takers yet, so dropping to £50. Bargainous enough yet?
20.
I used to sell John's guitars in my shop and these basses are excellent for the money. GLWTS
Yeah, not too bad at all. It's been sitting in a friend's cupboard for a long time so needs a little TLC, but is in generally good condition.
21.
11 more posts and it will be free..
Ah, well, so be it if it comes to that! Better off being used somewhere rather than collecting dust....
22. Price drop to £55
