1. In a rock vein, Steve Harris isn't too shabby
2. Hi Owen, glad the Clarus is working out I have an Acme Low B-2 (2x10") on order from the US and reckon that will sound fantastic with the head from my Acoustic Image Ten2 combo (essentially same as your Clarus but single channel)
3.
Active electronics? Huh?
No battery compartment. just a listing error
4. Tony Franklin?
5. Hi all, my band All The Queens Ravens is trying to get to 400 likes. We have pics, music (three of our finest tracks) etc on the page ... and there's more in the soundcloud link in my signature if you really do like what you hear! We are an eclectic and very melodic mix of folk/country/blues/flamenco in a bi-lingual melting pot, with two utterly stunning harmonising lady singers Here ya go http://www.facebook.com/queensravens Thx all in advance :-)
6. Lovely refinned '65 Jazz in sonic blue at the Gallery (although a near-£6k price seems somewhat optimistic) http://www.thebassga...e=Bass%20Guitar
7. FYI Hamster when I click on attachment this comes up (I assume its part of the problem BC had yesterday - however you might want to try re-posting pics?): An Error Occurred Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. [#10171] You do not have permission to view this attachment.
8. The girls in bands with DBs are good looking too!

10. Clarky

SOLD

Edit: apologies, I won't be going for the Ashula after all but good luck with the sale!
11. Out of interest is this the same bass that Blues_man_mike sold the day before you put it up FS? Are you the same person, by any chance? ;-0 PS, his bass was very nice!!!!! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/176247-fsft-warwick-thumb-bo5-2006/page__p__1651405#entry1651405
12. Onstage time confirmed at 6pm. Cheeky bump!
13. Clarky

SOLD!

Wes' work is top notch. For less than the price of a new Mexican RW Fender this is phenomenal value
14. So Chris Squier and Geddy Lee in their prime were a bit leaner than me, is that what you're saying Beedster? Fatty bump bump
15. OK, last bump before I have to rip apart my fantastic packing and start using this amp again. Don't make me stab the bubble wrap, the voices, the voices ....
16. Several have sold in the Amps for sale section, including one I bought and eventually sold. I think a couple of changed hands recently. Generally go for £500-ish depending on nick but I believe there's one FS at £450 right now, but its pick up only
17.
EDIT - Is he using some sort of hybrid picking technique at points in there? Guessing he's using the pick between index and thumb, but also using middle and ring for plucking other strings.
Looks that way to me, in the quieter chordal parts
18. I find this much more interesting and melodic than a slap-fest although I do think I would get a little tired with the middy/treble tone of that bass over a long gig. Its definitely good to see someone who has great facility with a pick as well (like Steve Swallow) to challenge lots of baked-in notions about the 'right way' to play certain genres of music. Finally, sorry to be a pedant but his first name is Carles
19.
I think there's a common misunderstanding that if a '75 doesn't have exactly the same features as a '75RI it's fake
Next you'll be telling that wasn't a real R*ckenbacker 4001 you sold me, Chris
20. All packed up and ready to go as a new BCer said he'd buy it a week ago and pay this week, only to buy something else instead after I had already bubble-wrapped, taped and cardboard boxed it. Harumph
21. Thanks Chris! TBH, it's a ton nicer with the TI flats on and if it doesn't sell I won't be too upset as I am getting more used to the ergonomics (though it's still not as Clarky gut-fitting as a Precision!)
22. 1970, shortly before taking the same stage as Deep Purple? (see I remember!)
23. Finally watched Jools last night. Boy is he a busy player - not much "economy of motion" going on there! Still infinitely better than me mind! As Keith mentioned, good to see a Kolstein in action Oh and the guy needs more double consonants in his name. Three seems mean
24. I assume these were rounds as you went for Slinkys as replacements? Status Hot Wire strings are quite thumpy IMHO, either the rounds or the half-rounds (which are not as slidey as flats in case you are not a flats fan). They are also cheaper than most US made strings
25. Still available - £250 plus post
