2.
That'll be the one he cut the horns off, now that's early. Did sound very Geddy and not so 'P'.
Yeah thats the one. I think its a 64 that was completely un molested until around Caress of Steel when it was turned into the tear drop bass of extreme ugliness

 4. Bought a 65 P bass off 0353203 (Si) and this was in it, Its a USA 62RI P pup It is in full working order and sounds brilliant, used at full gig volume last night and it is full and detailed in sound, not blurred as some P pups can be. I will measure its ohmage tomorrow. EDIT: Bas Doc Howard messaged me to let me know the A string pole piece would have been raised on a 57 so this should be listed as a 62. Sorry for any inconvenience. Cheers Dave

 6.
( Also Weren't most of Kolbs ideas kinda, um, nicked? :-D )
I'm sure he was and everybody else is just re presenting the ancient theories of the likes of Aristotle, Plato and Confucius.
 7.
An important distinction to make is that this isn't a novice player. As has been mentioned, there's an attitude at work here, and as such he has to take a bit of ribbing. To be honest, I'm not convinced that it isn't an elaborate wind-up.
You are possibly right in the wind up theory. My comment regarding the EBMM site though is based on Sterling Balls dictate that any negativity like this thread reflects very badly on his company, I know we are not a company but we are a profession.
 8.
Been reading this thread with interest. I would agree that it's not particularly 'becoming' of a site like this or Talkbass to have a number of it's members berating a player but unfortunately once you've posted up a video on the internet, the world's biggest viewing platform, you lose a substantial amount of right to be offended by some of the comments that precede. That's reality.
I agree but, there is a responsibility to act with professionalism and decorum when talking about another bass player on a bass playing forum. Im not for censorship but the EBMM forum had a bout of these threads and they have clamped down on it with removal of the thread immediately and punitive measure employed.
 9.
Delusion or desire to continue playing the bass? Kicking the SH1T out of some ones confidence, misplaced or other is going to do nothing for him as a player, or us as a community of musicians.
+1000
..and as such is open to judgement from anyone who cares to comment.
Commenting and constructive criticism is a world apart from ridicule. I'm not saying that is what you have done Michael as I have not read the thread in its entirety but you have to admit there has been a certain amount of sneering and sniggering in some of the posts.
