  1. Slightly off topic but I did that a few years ago when I flew back from a cruise ship gig. It meant my bass could travel in my luggage rather than separately.
  2. I wouldn’t. Which I know is no use to you. Just make sure it’s well packed and properly and fully insured to the full value.
  3. If you travel by train you see hundreds of such sites. They're usually located on the edge of towns and cities.
  4. Closed backs work fine in the situation you’re describing. Check out the reviews on amazon. There’s also a few websites like this dedicated to headphones that have reviews. I’ve got beyerdynamic dt770 Pro, they’re closed back and silent when they on my head. I wear them literally everywhere, and I’ve sat many times in quiet coaches on trains with them on, with no complaints. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0016MNAAI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. Use what you’ve already got, you should have GarageBand. If for some reason you haven’t you can just download it from the App Store. It’s easy to use, and very good, amazing actually considering you get it free. A good and simple interface is something like a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Your mac should recognise it straight off. There are lots of good tutorials on YouTube.
  6. It sounds like a band that I'd be leaving if it's that loud. What do the pubs and audience think?
  7. I did a lot of dep gigs for a country and western band a few years ago. Including some very large festivals. Some very weird people, they take it very seriously. All there was missing for some was the horse.
  8. Dentists will still continue to buy the readers digest.
  9. I read that their readership is declining, as are their finances. It would be so sad if they went bust.
  10. Not helping is certain areas of the press whipping up their hysteria on a daily basis.
  11. She is I believe male to female. Good luck to her, though in 2018 she really shouldn't need to fear any kind of prejudice or childishness. I guess she's just being honest about it.
  12. I have a set of nickel double ball-end arriving this week for my Sei 6 string . Status double ball-end are OK, but only come in stainless-steel.
  13. Fodera seemingly do make their own strings. http://www.fodera.com/about-our-strings/
  14. D’Addario I think do medium scale strings.
  15. But it has 😁, maybe I was imagining it. Have you actually tried a Double 4? They are I agree quite fussy where they're placed, but they are very capable little combos.
  16. It will. I did dozens of gigs with drums, brass, keyboards. Also several gigs in an at times very loud experimental/ambient ensemble.
  17. There’s a Phil Jones double 4 combo in the sales section. I used one for a couple of years at various gigs.
  18. Maybe look through some adverts on here, you’d be surprised what some people’s idea of mint is. To me mint is like new. You’ll see adverts describing something as mint except for.......😊
  19. It seems to be the done thing on here.
  20. How did you pay? PayPal you should have some recourse. Everything I've bought from Bumtree I've collected it. I treat it like a local advertiser.
  21. It's brilliant that the bass was found and returned to it's proper owner. Just bad that someone is out of pocket though. I've said before, never leave gear unattended. When I'm on the train and my bass is next to me in it's bag I always keep my arm through the strap, just incase someone decided to grab it and run at a stop.
  22. It is very nice, and I’m not just saying that. I got it in a trade and really have no use for it. My bass is headless so I use a guitar gig bag, this is stuck gathering dust in my dad’s garage which is a huge shame.
  23. Isn't it fraud if they're taking money for stuff that they either don't have or don't send? I'd be inclined to contact trading standards or possibly your local CAB.
