    I think the Gallery is better, I've always had good service there, and they're far more likely to offer deals on items. I think the price marked on stuff at Bass direct is the price you pay. He also seems to push stuff, Bergantino and other expensive amps/cabs and Roscoe and Dingwall basses.

    The white one came with my '62 reissue Precision bass, I bought the tortoiseshell one for the 'Pino' look, but it was too dark, so I bought another. Both are in good condition, the tortoiseshell one is in excellent condition (it was only fitted for 10 minutes). Both are 3 ply, the white one is white/black/white and the tortoiseshell one is dark red/white/tortoiseshell. Both have 13 screw holes, the holes pretty much match up with each other. I'd like £7.50 for each one, this includes postage.

I play anything I'm asked in any style that I'm asked, I've done country and western gigs in front of 60 year old guys dressed in cowboy suits with cap guns in holsters at their side. I listed to the CD's I was given first and tried to capture the essence of what was being played. Regardless of the fact I don't actually like C and W music, and I thought the guys in the audience were actually slightly strange, I just enjoyed the playing, I live to play and create music.

[/quote] Don't most musicians play music for other people, ie functions band, session work, even original music, not much point to it if people don't like it.

    At uni we're given a song a week to learn for a live performance the following week. We're given the chart and an MP3 and have to learn it note for note, we're marked on how accurately we play it with regard to capturing it's feel and tone etc. Marcus Miller is Marcus Miller, I'd have thought that whoever's doing bass for Chic now, he'd have to pretty much recreate what Bernard played.

    I tried 3 sets a couple of years ago, don't really know why to be honest, what's the point in coloured strings, but the black came off each sets within an hour or so.

    I think tonally the LM2 is one of the best amps. I've read numerous times that with everything set flat it's actually pretty colourless, you get out what you put in to it.

    Pino's was Fiesta red over an original desert sand finish. I think 'cos of the fashion thing of fiesta red due to Hank Marvin's strat.

    Surely one filter counteracts the other doesn't it ? Isn't one cutting the mids and boosting the highs and lows to get a 'smiley' face EQ curve, for a modern sort of sound. The other one is simulating an older Ampeg type of amp. Why do you use both at the same time, or am I wrong. I've gigged the same set up as you've got for the last 6 months, and just leave everything flat. That's using a variety of basses depending on the gig. I think part of the problem nowadays is it's sooooooooo easy to mess you sound up given the flexibility of tone control on an amp.

    This is just a few days old, I couldn't decide between this and a comfort strap, I think I made the wrong decision . It's a short one, in the shiny black sharkskin material. £25 including UK postage.

    I like to practice things at a faster tempo anyway, so I'd choose 130 if the song's at 125bpm. I also practice stuff at half tempo, so I'd set it at maybe 63bpm and use the metronome so it's just playing beats 2 and 4.

    The neck looks good, not sure about the body though. I can never see why people assume there'd be such uniform wearing across the top of the body. The wear in the top waist of the body looks good. I've seen relic'd 70's jazz basses with the same sort of wear on the body, 70's basses were polyester finished though, so you wouldn't get the paint rubbing off from an arm or a sleeve.

    This came with my USA made Marcus Miller 5 string jazz bass. It's in pretty much perfect condition, I have never used it, I prefer to use a gig bag and the case is in the way (I've kept it behind the sofa in the living room, my Dad's now discovered the hiding place and is moaning about it ) I'd prefer collection from my home in Birmingham, but will ship at the buyers expense.

    These come in packs of three unfortunately, and I only actually wanted the one, so if anyone else fancies trying these without having to pay for 3 of them, then now's your chance. These are large size, so they'll fit 5 and 6 strings basses. I have an[s] orange one [/s]and a [s]brown one[/s]. I'd like £7.50 each which includes postage and packing.

    Wow, that's sad. I just got my niece interested in his designs, I actually bought her a brilliant book about him for easter.

    I'm after a nice wide strap for a rather heavy bass. This one that Pino's playing looks perfect, though I'm guessing it's possibly a bit expensive . There's a logo on it, but it's a bit small to make out what it says.

    I [i]think[/i] the Fender originals are fitted to basses like the Pino custom shop models, I may be wrong though.
