  1. Darkglass Electronics Alpha Omega Ultra V2. Bass Preamp - Aux In. Complete with box etc. Bought brand new a couple of months ago. Used very sparingly at home only, so in like new condition. I just bought a Darkglass Harmonic Boost pedal, which has all the EQ possibilities I need, I’ll replace this with the non-Ultra model. Price includes next day, fully insured postage. Details from the Darkglass website: As technology progresses, more and more devices are developed and placed on the market, all stretching the envelope of what’s possible. Our main goal at Darkglass Electronics is to push the boundaries of what musicians are able to achieve and to empower a musician’s creativity. With our latest creation, we are taking a step into the future and is the beginning of a new era. The Alpha•Omega Ultra is the most versatile bass pre-amplifier we’ve ever designed. With its two distinct distortion circuits (Alpha and Omega), extremely high dynamic range, six-band active graphic EQ, dedicated headphone output and balanced direct output with switchable digital impulse-response cabinet emulation, all make for an incredibly complete tool for the modern bass player. The frequency response from a loaded speaker cabinet is a huge part of the tone of modern music production for achieving big, natural tones out of instruments, as the raw, distorted direct signal from pre-amplifiers and pedals etc. often sound fizzy and lifeless without one. Impulse Response (IR) cabinet emulation has become extremely popular in studio and live production in recent times, to uncompromisingly replicate the benefits of real speakers (sonic-size and presence of a full-rig), without any of the drawbacks: having an acoustically treated room (or very unhappy neighbours due to the volume), carrying bulky cabinets and/or setting up expensive microphones. As more and more musicians go direct to the board, the need and benefits of incorporating studio-grade cabinet emulation into our top-of-the-line creations was evident. Now you can have an uncompromising, dead simple and ready-to-mix sound with your Alpha•Omega Ultra everywhere you go! With the Darkglass Alpha•Omega pedal already achieving renowned success in 2017, the Ultra version has been designed to be exponentially more versatile with these ground-breaking features. The Alpha•Omega Ultra’s Virtual Cabinet functionality allows you to get a consistent studio-grade setup by incorporating an incredibly accurate representation of your favourite cabinet’s character. And since they exist in the digital domain, they can be changed in a matter of seconds via a USB port with the Darkglass Suite. Available for both PC and Mac, the Darkglass Suite is a free, easy-to-use platform for experimenting with your favourite cabinet configurations. This feature is fully switchable on the Direct Output and always-on for the headphone output, which gives you the chance to practice silently with an indescribably realistic, full-rig sound. Features • Dual distortion engines (Alpha & Omega) • Bite and Growl frequency emphasis switches • Clean and Distortion type Blend controls • Separate Bypass and Distortion foot-switches - allows use of Distortion and EQ independently • Six-band active Graphic EQ • ± 20dB master volume control • IR (impulse response) cabinet simulation • Load different Virtual Cabinets (one at a time) • Connect to your PC/Mac via Micro-USB • Free ‘Darkglass Suite’ software • 3.5mm headphone output with cabinet simulation •Balanced XLR output with switchable IR cabinet simulation •3.5 mm Aux in and Headphone connections – allows jamming with backing tracks - Aux Version only • Switchable ground lift • Input impedance: 1M Ohm • Output impedance: 1k Ohm • Powered by optional 9V PSU - (9V DC, centre -, 2.1mm, ~110mA current draw)
  2. I’m guessing the fault lies in the thing that pixelates the typing.
  3. This looks very nice.
  4. I’ve only been once, that was only for an hour following a trip to see Gormley’s iron figures at Crosby beach. I’ll probably stay for the weekend and have a look around the city.
  5. She’s extremely lucky! I’ve only ever been to one music show, that was at the NEC when I was about 15 or 16. The noise drove me mad - that was mostly drummers whacking and banging away. Some of the stands then had headphones available for people to play quietly, problem was that everything was just so noisy, you couldn’t hear yourself through the phones.
  6. Bought brand new a few months ago. In mint condition, still has the plastic on the face. Complete with box.

  7. I should guess they’ll have amps etc set up in a separate room.
  8. You know, that had crossed my mind, especially with Covid still very much here.
  9. Good suggestion. 😆
  10. Funnily enough, my mum just said it’ll be like a typing pool.
  11. At least that’s what I’m told. What a brilliant idea though. I’ve previously been put off this type of event, I don’t like lots of noise. I’m going to go to this though.
  12. No idea, to be honest I’ve never heard of them. You see some strange prices sometimes on Discogs marketplace too.
  13. Have you tried switching it off and back on? If that doesn’t work then a good kick might.
  14. Wow! I know from my own bass that WT produce some fabulous instruments, this is a masterpiece though.
  15. I’ve played this briefly. It’s even nicer looking in real life. Adam is a first rate guy too.
  16. I understand the server is to blame for the ongoing problems. Just wondered if you’d tried switching it off and back on again? If that doesn’t work, try hitting it with something. It usually works for me.
  17. I blame the Russians, or the Chinese. I suspect Brexit has a hand in it too.
  18. I’ve noticed over the past couple of days that when I reply to a posting, I’m having to wait 30 or 40 seconds while my reply ‘saves’. Then the page refreshes and my comment appears. I just replied to a post, and had time to make coffee and put the washing machine on while waiting for it to upload.
  19. They’re probably just very insecure males, and best ignored. Some of the finest musicians I’ve played with have been female. There was a brilliant female bassist in my year at music college. The one drummer I occasionally play with is female. She also play plays and teaches vibraphone at one of the country’s top Conservatoires.
  20. My old bass too. I did quite a few solo gigs with this beast, it sounded fantastic.
  21. It’s sad that people are making fun of the post. Yep, gone are the days of easy trade from the UK to the EU, and vice versa.
  22. Brilliant. I’ve released a few things on vinyl. It’s been increasing in popularity for a few years now. Cassettes are also incredibly popular. A solo album i released on cassette was one of the most successful things I’ve done.
  23. You’re braver than me. I have posted a bass abroad, but only to Europe, and that was before Brexit. I wouldn’t again - especially after reading your story. I’m glad it arrived safe and sound in the end.
  24. Sibelius is an absolute pain in the proverbial to use. We had to use it at uni, they wouldn’t allow us to use anything else. I’ve started using MuseScore, which offers the functionality of Sibelius without the shouting and screaming.
