If Marcus puts a smiley at the end of an email, then I smile, it's not a reason to be annoyed.

Whilst I agree that good service is important, I think we need to recognise that Mark and Marcus are only human, as such there will be the odd mistake made. It's how they deal with those that's important, and on the whole I think reading these posts, they seem to deal with them extremely well. I can't help thinking reading through this, that there are some extremely fussy people about though.

Just be careful with it. I guess the biggest hazard would be having it stolen, and then trying to find it afterwards? I gig my Overwater custom 7, which would cost in excess of £5k to replace, that's what it's for. It's kept in it's gig bag at gigs, which I keep next to me, or in sight at all times. Though my bass would probably be a little harder to sell, and easier to spot. My friend is a cellist, her cello would cost tens of thousands to replace.

It's also how they're manufactured, not the faulty of the shop. They're only a small shop, but I think they do do quite a lot of business, so mistakes every now and then are going to occur. The problem with this thread is that people come on and air these problems. I don't see a similar thread for Thomann, or the Bass gallery, or Guitar Guitar. I have no affiliation with the shop, I've used them many times, and not all of my dealings have been perfect, but it's how they're sorted out that matters, and everyone has been.

Learning scales is great, I always suggest [b]not[/b] playing them in a linear 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 way though. For instance, if you're practicing C major, start with your open E string, then, F, then G etc, and work your way all along the fretboard as high as you can go. That way it's the scale that you're playing, not a series of notes in a pattern. This also helps with improving your knowledge of the fretboard. It's good too, to see how bass lines are devolved from scales, examine a bass line you can play, and see how it's constructed.

Any ideas? I thought it might have been the battery, but I've fitted a new one, it's still the same. It's an Overwater.

[/quote] Quite. It's obviously not meant to be an accurate hearing test, it's a bit of fun, it does say 'lets play'. I think what it does hopefully demonstrate though, especially if you're younger and maybe struggling to hear the higher frequencies that you should maybe think about hearing protection.

I think it's based on the fact that you tend to lose the ability to head certain frequencies as you age. It's obviously not totally accurate.

I found this quite good. I have the hearing of someone under 25. I do, and always have looked after my hearing though. I try and protect it, avoiding loud noises etc. I've always worn earplugs at gigs and when playing with bands, and I've refused in the past to rehearse with bands that rehearse too loudly. No reason not to at all. I've done loads of calibrations with people this way. I tend to use We Transfer to send files, compress them first though.

[/quote] To give some idea, on mine as shown in the photo on Saturday, I had my pedalboard in it's case, and 10 pedals, plus a Voodoo Labs power supply, a very heavy Dunlop volume pedal, a Phil Jones Double 4 combo and it's power supply and a box of cables and leads. My old one that eventually broke a month ago, was a drop down base type, that wasn't anywhere near as well made as my Millennium,, that carried my Markbass 1x12 combo all over the country, and had carried my double bass on the train to London, and on the tube around London

Thanks for all the replies. Lot's of guys seem here, and on Facebook seem to like the Lithium Eneloops, so I think I'm going for a few of those .

There was one in a studio I used to frequent. It had this inherent sound that I just didn't like, and no matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of it. It also weighed about as much as the average family home, complete with the average family. I think I'll stick to my shoebox sized Phil Jones combo
