    Oldman Feedback

Just sold an octave pedal to Brian. Smooth transaction. Would recommend. Chris.
  2. Paddy bought two sets of strings from me today. Fast payment. A smooth transaction.
  3. TC Electronics Subnup pedal in very good condition. Comes with original box. Velcro on bottom. Only used a handful of times. Price includes shipping to a UK address.
  4. Brand new set of strings in unopened package. Price included UK delivery. These are Stringsdirect's house brand. I switched to flats so I no longer need these.
  5. Brand new, unopened set of strings. Reason for selling: I now use flats. Price includes shipping to UK.
  6. I think the question we have to ask is: is the player a technician or a musician?
  7. Bought a Precision pickup and pots from Dave. Fast shipping and well packaged. Great to deal with.
  8. It is more to do with perception than ability. If a band still has appeal and people will come and see them, what is the problem? It is not about how well a band can play but how well their followers think they play. Most people are not stupid and realise that Paul McCartney, for instance, is not as good as he was in his Beatles or Wings days, but if they are a fan they will be willing to overlook his shortcomings, in return for being able to attend a concert and be transported back to a time they loved. In short, as long as the fans want to see them, they should continue.
  9. I bought the Kliq TinyTune mini tuner from Amazon for £26.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0143H0W3U?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 It handles the low B string on my 5-string easily.
  10. I never wanted to become rich and famous, but a little recognition would have been nice. Over the years, I watched people with far less musical ability become household names while I was left wondering why it was. When I was about 30 years old, I realised that talent and ability are not enough. People really don't care how much musical talent you have or how hard you work, they want something else. Call it the X factor or charisma. Whatever it is, I don't have it and the penny finally dropped: I realised that the world didn't want me. It would have been very easy to become bitter about the situation but I didn't. At 74 years of age, I am still playing in a working band and will continue to do it for as long as I can. I don't care that the world doesn't want me - I don't really want the world.
  11. A set of Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats (43 - 136) for my 5-string - £70.00 on Amazon last May. I see they are £81.00 now.
  12. Bought an XVive wireless from Pete. It arrived the next day, well wrapped. All in all, a very smooth transaction. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
  13. There is a fine line between genius and crap, and he crosses the line several times. But what do I know: Iḿ just an old fart!
  14. Not for me either. And I'm Canadian!
  15. Too old at 45 - Rubbish! I just had my 74th birthday and joined my current band last year. I found them on the JoinMyBand website. To quote Nike: Just Do It!
  16. Bought a Zoom recorder from Paul. Very smooth transaction. Recommended.
  17. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I put a little Loctite on the threads before tightening the nut and it hasn't come loose since.
  18. I use the tuner built in to my Zoom B1 Four. I used to use a TC clip-on but had difficulty seeing it in bright sunlight.
  19. I would also have recommended the TC clip-on tuner but I have recently discovered that it is impossible to read in bright sunlight.
  20. I am not familiar with the HX Stomp but I did own an older LIne6 pedal and it was powered by a 9V AC adapter. Most pedals require a 9V DC adapter - which is what the HB supplies. If this is the case with the HX Stomp then there is no power supply that I am aware of that can supply both AC and DC.
  21. Another vote for the Harley Benton Powerplant. I am using the ISO-5 and it works a treat.
