1.
Is the pick guard original? I thought with headstock truss adjustment it wouldnt have the cut outs
It doesnt adjust at the head it adjusts at the heel...
2. Honestly, it's a great head. Don't be put off by the HB. I've had Promethean, Redsub and owned this. They are basically the same.
3. If I had some cash I'd buy it back!
4.
I owned this once. Really is a lovely playing quality Precision.
Thanks for the thumbs up, especially from a previous owner! Will be sorry to see it go but needs must...
5. Reading too deep here lads! Is a BF lightweight combo too difficult to comprehend?
6. Sounds Pretty Vagrant to me!
7.
Why ?
Because knowledge is power!
8.
I wouldn't start opening them up. Alex is pretty particular on the construction, especially the cross bracing to keep them rigid while using lightweight plywood. I followed a thread on another site a few years ago when he was making the prototype. It's very clever.
Ummm, I thought as much. Would be interesting to see the plans. Thanks for the info though...
9. Anybody have any thoughts about building a compact head into a BF cab? Midget or Compact perhaps? I'm not sure of the internal construction of ether and so would be nice to know if there was space...
10.
Lovely colour Where was this one made, Japan? Is it one of the Silver Series?
Thanks for the comments lads. The SQ Series are really nice. Not a Silver Series, the SQ were the next series after the JV's. Made in Japan.
11. May PX against cheaper Precision maybe a Jazz (Oly white/maple board would be good). Maybe Jamhub, Roland HS-5. Squier SQ Precision. Dates to around 84. 3 Tone Sunburst, white plate, rosewood board. Great condition for it's age but it's not like new. It has dings an dongs which can only be expected for a bass that has been played for 30 odd years. Nice low action and plays/sounds every bit as good as my JV. Certainly well balanced and doesn't feel too heavy to a man with a glass back Getting 2 totally different weights on scales now so, I'm really not sure. Strung with flats and has a true big Precision sound. All original as far as I'm aware. A previous owner has had his name scribed on the metal neck pate. I quite like that, as it adds to it's history. Sorry about rubbish pics will try and get some more up tomorrow. Comes with padded gig bag. Collection preferred but will post at buyers risk and cost. Will be well packed. Might be able to meet up if not too far from BB22SH.
12. Used a similar Ampeg cab recently. A monster of a thing. You should have seen me and the stage guy freak when it started moving on it's own towards the front of the stage! We stopped it just in time before it fell off! Reminded me of a Dalek
13. Unfortunate name for an amp! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nobsound-MS-10D-Hifi-2-0CH-Stereo-Hybrid-Power-Amplifier-Tube-Headphone-AMP-/271655609495?hash=item3f3fefa497:g:AsYAAOSw1DtXFJHk
14. Brilliant! The tax payers money is already squandered on countless inappropriate schemes. At least the children of the working tax paying class will have something back for their parents labour. Music expands the mind and should not be the luxury of the elite, or ordinary folk like us who are fortunate enough to have been able to afford an instrument and have the privilege of being able to play.
15. That's fekin dangerous. Protective clothing, hard hat and visor should be supplied. Perhaps Devo might buy it?
16.
I would probably have avoided any mention of Rolfe in the advert!
Agreed. Major marketing error there!
17. They used to be popular! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rolf-harris-STYLOPHONE-boxed-/371788535532?hash=item569052d6ec:g:Wv0AAOSw44BYKMjH
18. A mate has one of these in his studio in Belgium. We rehearsed using it when over there. I must admit it was great and not as heavy as I'd thought it would be. He got it off a lass who went travelling the world. He got it off her for 5 Clash albums on MP3! How's that for a bargain!
19. Makes sense if you read it out loud with a Scouse/Italian accent though!
20. Beautiful thing. Have an Oly white P and it's great. Amazing series the JV. GLWTS
21.
Hi. Where are you based?
In Blackburn. Lancashire.

23. Bargain but too far away for me - https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-bass-amplifiers/ibanez-promethean-p5110-bass-amp./1198195862
24. Price drop... Temporary price drop. Got my eye on something on evilbay. If the item goes first , the price will go back up. Got this recently on here. Works perfectly well and is in good condition. Also has the benefit of having the footswitch and a quality cover. Sounds great, 2 Toneprint effects, built in tuner, loud and lightweight. Great if you are looking to upgrade to a larger speaker size but without the heft. Selling as it's now surplus to requirements. Collection. From BB22SH, possibly meet up or could post at buyers cost and risk.
