  1. Thank you very much, sir. The pickup is brilliant in this one, and is surprisingly versatile.
  2. I don’t claim any kind of expertise, but looks it to me, now you put the pickguard there.
  3. Is that 70s pickup spacing, or do my eyes deceive me?
  4. Something about the all black 80s jazz that just looks so cool. Lemme go get my chorus!
  5. Might they take it back and let you take a different bass?
  6. That’s a stunner, for sure 🤭
  7. Unattainable dreams right here. That’s beautiful.
  8. Many thanks. You're absolutely right, but by no means a one-trick pony! 😀
  9. Bought new in 2012, my apologies. Also no postage.
  10. Ernie Ball group 3 flats free to a good home. Bought new in December 2012. Recently changed to chromes for a slightly newer feel and sound. Really mellow sounding, and dark tone. Free to collect from Birmingham address. No postage, too much hassle.
  11. Hi everyone, I’ve decided to list my old P Bass in favour of something a little more traditional, perhaps with a sunburst and rosewood flavour. Not a desperate sale by any means, but I have a strict 1 in 1 out policy. As you can see, it’s a great example of an old school ash-body, maple-board P Bass. Ready for punk and indie, but can handle soulful RnB all the same. A player’s instrument with the following mods: Nordstrand NP4 pickup - Arguably the best pickup for a P Bass.. BadassII bridge installed at some point - Just the badass-est bridge ever! CTS pots - The originals probably wore out. For me, this just ensures the bass works. In 2020 (amidst all the chaos) I had the bass refretted, and as a result it plays like a dream. I have used Daddario Chromes solidly, meaning there is no wear whatsoever. The body has some wear where a previous owner had fitted and removed a thumb rest, and the neck has some areas where the finish has come away, but this is no way affects playability. I know the important question with basses from the era is the weight, which in this case is a healthy 5.3Kg. I am looking for a sale at this point, but if there is a nice sunburst P Bass out there, I am prepared to exchange with cash your way if needed. And I'm sure it goes without saying, please feel free to get in touch for more pics or info. All the best, Ad
  12. Modest entry: Squier VM Jazz Bass in Sunburst - First bass, sold with Babicz bridge. CIJ Fender PB62 - Really should have kept this. 86 MIJ JB75 - Modded by BassDirect and sold for far too little. MIA Standard P - Decent bass, but a bit dull. Sold on here. 80s ESP fretless PJ - Turns out I’m not a fretless guy. Sold on here. 78 P Bass - Current bass. Loud and heavy, does the job.
  13. I totally agree. However, the current seller is rather more ambitious. 😅 https://reverb.com/uk/item/39015784-fender-precision-bassusa-1977-blonde-black-guard-maple-neck
  14. I spoke to the original seller; nice old guy, seemed sincere enough, just more of a guitar player. I’d say it’s real. The current seller is a shop advertising goods on Reverb, so if it turns out not to be genuine, not only are they charging too much, well... no comment! 😅
  15. The one at the top, there, was sold on Facebook marketplace a few weeks ago for around £850. The guy said he just needed to downsize and wasn’t too bothered about the current value. I have one just like it with a BadassII bridge and old school cream Dimarzio PAF. Plays like a charm, but I’d rather something more traditional, maybe in sunburst/rosewood.
