1. I'm so stoked about this! Will be going tomorrow and I'm taking my dad for his birthday, who is a waaay better bass player than me. Do we have a Basschat stand this year?
2.
Maybe some discounted basses for sale this weekend then??
3. Looks a bit like the mahogany I used in my GCSE project.
4. Tickets booked for Saturday! Looking forward to it!
5. If you can find an OLP MM3 5 string then these are well worth a punt. They look virtually indistinguishable from an actual stingray and they play very well indeed. The other plus is that some people love them so if you get a bargain on one you will probably sell it for what you bought it for. I bought one for £150 and sold it for £150 18 months down the line.
6. Purely from an imagination point of view I would love a Sandberg P bass with dual humbuckers (one in the MM position) with the wood finished in blue. I forget the name but there is a custom air rifle stock maker (gary something or other) who does some amazing stuff and I'd love a Sandberg bass that looks like his work.
7. "Type: Sports Convertible" Err OK if you say so!
8.
Sums it up perfectly. I think if we did buy it, it would be a shame to just burn it. We'd get way more mileage out if it if we were to send it around and post videos of our attempts to actually play the damn thing.
Yes and possibly for charity like the bass relay..
9. Just found Anup Sastry....amazing stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBG0nM4dmgw
10.
and I've just had a look at the sellers other items and found this! http://www.ebay.co.u...nYAAOSw8-tWZCb1 Matt
BAHAHAHHAHA
11.
Headstock of our newest addition to the family.
Nice - is that a natural finish CHB-1 or a new model entirely?
12. I think it is very possible not to have a drummer. A 'non-conformist band line-up can be something of a talking point. On the other hand - I dare you to post that OP on a drummer's forum!
13. I quite like it - Can't fathom why on earth he decided to leave the Stagg badge on it, much less, relocate it to near the pots. Kinda ruins the magic....
14.
Nobody tells me what I have the time for or how I spend my time. Blue
No - and neither do most of us here who have partners. You say it like you think we are some kind of prisoners in our own home? When we are choosing how to spend our time we have to consider other people and their arrangements. The difference is for most us - that is our partners and family. For you it is your band members.
15. Whats the point of using flame maple when you just paint over it? Surely they are not telling us that flame maple makes a tonal difference?!
16. Last year or the year before I saw Napalm Death support Children of Bodom at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Napalm Death were horrendus! All noise, no definition or finesse.
17. Its a bit like what I would expect a Jazz bass from Tattooine to look like!
18. I really like that! Two questions: What is 'ebonised'? Are the pickups really rusty or have they been made to look that way?
19. Wow that is certainly unique! I don't normally like these type of body shapes but I think this is rather lovely! Can you post a link to what it sounds like?!
20.
In the middle of my left hand where my fingers meet my palm, there's a bit there that goes underneath the neck of a bass. The trick here is that conveniently, that hand is connected to my arm and as long as I remember to take my arm to the gig I don't have a problem with neck dive.
I don't get it! Can you post pics of what you mean?!
21. If you get it Matt - you will need to let us know what its like!
22. Lovely job! A real transformation! I now am getting a bug to do another self build...
23. Interesting - I wonder how well he will package it for postage for the £2.80 P&P he is asking for! It definitely has the dingwall kink on the bridge end of the body!
24. Welcome Doogy, You should find forum categories on the home page for specifics!
